I became addicted to genealogy in about 2002-2003. I knew very little about my fathers family as he died when I was young. The only information I had was his name and his birth city. One evening I did an internet search with his name and the name of the small east Texas town in which he was born and I got a hit. That was the beginning of my genealogy addiction. There never seems to be enough time in the day since my job keeps getting in the way!|

|Julia Olene||Emily Jane Tinsley Finger|
Emily Jane Tinsley Finger was my grandmother. My father was her third child. His name was Ira Weldon Finger, born 12/10/1916 died 11/19/2002. You posted a photo of my grandparents which looks like it may have been taken on their wedding day. I was so excited to see this photo as it is not one I have ever seen before. The photo on the top was taken of my Aunt Lois with her arms around her mother shortly before she died of breast cancer. My father was 13 years old when his mother died and I think Aunt Lois was either 16 or 17. I am nwondering how we are related. Are we distant cousins on the Tinsley side? I would be very interested in any information you can give me. My sister and brother live in the Dallas area and we are planning to go see our grandparents grave. Thank you so much for posting the photo! Also, if you are interested, I can give you information about Emily Jane Tinsley Finger's children for your genealogical research.

|Lauren's Mom||Tinsley family|
Hello, I'm researching the Tinsley family. I am not of the bloodline, but my daughters and their father are. My sister-in-law and I work on the family tree from different states. Information on the Tinsley family has not been easy to find in a lot of cases. I am hoping you might have information you would be willing to share with me.
I am trying to find out more about Margaret "Peggy" Tinsley (b. 1814, in Tennessee; d. 1888). Her father was David Tinsley b. 1785. Death date unknown. Margaret's mother was Sarah "Sallie" Oliver, b. 1787 in VA and died 1850 in TN. Sarah & David had other children: Betsy, Dolly, Coleman (b. 1801, d. 1860) and Goldin (or Golden) (b. 1810).
Sarah Oliver Tinsley appeared to have divorced David Tinsley in 1826 in Williamson, TN. Sarah shows up with the last name of Jarnagan (or Jernigan?) on the 1850 census, living with Margaret's family.
Margaret married William Hafford in about 1838, in Madison family.
That is all I have on them.
I noticed that the name Coleman shows up several times in the Tinsley family (as well as the Hafford family), so I feel some of the other Tinsley families who were further west than Tennessee must be connected to David Tinsley.
Can you offer any information? I would truly appreciate it.
Sincerely, Gwen (Lauren's Mom)
|V. Lamendola||RE: Killen(s) family|
Orillia is connected to me through her brother Stephen Madison's wife Alice Johnson. Alice is my 1st cousin 4x removed through her father Adam Gardner Johnson. Adam's brother Peyton was my 3rd great-grandfather. I guess that makes us cousins. I have a large file on ancestry.com. If you search on any of the Killen's or Johnson's above, you should find it. I'd love to share information. I can also be contacted at: firstname.lastname@example.org. I'm looking to hearing from you.

I am looking or information on this line and see you mention a family Bible in Orillia Susanna "Anna" Killen's listing at findagrave.com. Are you kin to this family?
