I have been researching my family & my husband's family for almost 26 years. I have always loved cemeteries since I was a child. Cemeteries have always been a place of reflections and remembrance for me. Even if I don't have family buried there. I currently serve as Director of the Rome, GA Family History Center, work in the Heritage Room at the Rome-Floyd Co. Library in Rome, GA, President of the Floyd County Cemetery Preservation Committee and as Secretary in the Georgia Municipal Cemetery Association. As you can see, I only do a "little" genealogy!
I am happy to make corrections or additions. Please give me time to make them. I don't always get the chance to get on Find-A-Grave everyday.
If you would like me to transfer management of any of the memorials I have listed, please feel free to ask. | |

 | Curl Graves at Chapel Hi Pat! Just wanted to let you know that I wrote to the church for exact burial information for Isaac and Clinton Curl plus any burial information for Isaac's wife, Maggie. I also sent a small donation for the info, but as of today, the check has not cleared, nor have I heard from the church. Hope all is well with you, my 86 year old Mom fell and broke her hip 2 weeks ago. She is doing better. If I hear from the church, I will let you know. Take care. Becky Elberta, AL | | | Churchwell

Thanks! I'll make a photo request on the memorial and you can claim it and get the "credit", if that matters to you.

 | RE: Mrs. V. J. Appleby
Yes, her name is Virginia. I should have sent that with the obit. Very glad to find her grave. The Applebys were very prominent in the history of LaFayette, Alabama, her husband being the Probate Judge here for many years. Do you photograph graves also?
Thanks,

 | Edward Lee Jones When you told me about the headstone for Edward Lee Jones in Eastview cemetery in Rome, I did not know at the time that Uncle Ed's son-Edward Lee Jones Jr. was buried beside his mother instead of his father. He died in 1975. No one ever changed the dates for Eddie. He was born in 1957. Uncle Ed is buried in Adairsville. Thanks | | | michael harris
 | THANK YOU!! Thank you for the photo of Rev. Alexander Harris' grave site! It's another piece of my family history that's come alive! I will tell my dad about it ASAP!
I know that his children, Valerie, Nathaniel and William are also buried nearby.
I would love to have photos of their gravesites as well - in particular, William, who was the last to survive, and another link, from Alexander, to eventually, me.
From William (1857) came, John (1888), Henry (1908), Thomas (my dad - 1933) and me (1960).
Thanks so much! Mike Harris (dadofrabbitz@yahoo.com) | | | | [View all messages...] |
