I first discovered this site when I was researching descendants through one of the proven "royalty" lines. I was interested in finding where some of these individuals were buried and was hoping to visit England in the near future.
My England trip has not panned out yet, but I did discover that I liked this site due to the fact that an individual could be personalized by adding photos, taking pictures of headstones, and adding bios. I felt this somehow draws you in closer to the person. I love the fact that you can leave notes also.
I have told everyone that I know about this site and I and some friends have been doing all we can to document some of our local cemeteries. We have completed our local cemeteries and have expanded into some of our surrounding communities. We have met some very nice people due to this project. We also post all of the local obits to FAG if the obit states which cemetery they are located in.
We also volunteer to put out flags on Memorial Day and Veteran's Day. It only takes a few hours, and, let's face it, some of these guys can use the help. They are always so grateful, and the ceremonies are always beautiful.
I would also like to thank the volunteers who take time to take pictures of headstones for me at cemeteries that I will probably never get to see. Recently, I found where one of my fathers relatives was buried, and a volunteer took a picture of the grave. I do appreciate each and every one of you!
I encourage everyone to adopt a cemetery, scour the local papers for obits, and tell all their friends and neighbors about this site. Everyone benefits!
Happy Hunting!!! | |

 | RE: Julius O. Wells So, that is why you worked so hard over here. Well, if I have any that you see that you would like to manage please let me know. I have been doing requests for photos for friends and the "Request" list to get to learn more about doing my own when I get a chance to travel. I was terrible with a film camera and then the kids made a fanatic out of me when they got me the digital. WOW. What a difference. So, Happy Researching, BudAdded by Bud on Mar 25, 2013 4:36 PM | | | Bud
 | RE: Julius O. Wells Hi again. I might have hit a few out of the area, I do have "Wells" in WV and Fla. So, any I have sent to you that out of what you want just send them back. Also, in 2006 & 2007 I only put memorials on with info from the photo that should be with it. I have noticed the past few months as I have transferred memorials a lot, some of them did not have the photo with them. If you like just send a note and I will try to get a photo, or even a better photo as some of them are not to my liking now. Best regards, BudAdded by Bud on Mar 25, 2013 3:14 PM | | | G. | FAG 16419480 Hi: I'm a genealogist that's already documented the lives of more than 3400 LAPE surnamed ancestors deceased & living and ponder how ya know so much about Raymond S. Lape & Lucille Iva Nelson Fields Lape? Would you know the date of their marriage and where md? Would you know the dates of his marriages to Frances & Aldredge? Did Ray ever have children? Finally, Ray's obit states his wife | | | Bud
 | RE: Julius O. Wells Wells and Mason from that cemetery are all in your caring hands now. I do have 3 "Mason" in Gwinnett County and several "Wells" also. If you would like to take care of them also I will gladly send them over to you. I was collecting all the "Wells" I came across for someone a long time back. They only took certain ones. I would have taken them all if they were in my tree so that if someone related wanted them I could maybe break a brick wall so to speak. Anyway, Happy Researching, BudAdded by Bud on Mar 24, 2013 3:52 PM | | | Bud
 | RE: Julius O. Wells Thank you for the compliments. I sent the ones under the tree to you for family caring. I do have 4 more with the maiden namde 'Wells' and about a dozen with that surname if you would like I will transfer those over to your care also. The "Very Best" to you and all yours, BudAdded by Bud on Mar 23, 2013 10:45 AM | | | | [View all messages...] |
