Bio and Links
Bio Photo As you can see by my picture, I was a career Navy man. I enlisted on December 10, 1970 and served sixteen years and obtained the rank of Aviation Ordnance Chief Petty Officer (AOC). I was sworn in as a Chief Warrant Officer Two (CWO2) on March 1, 1986. I was accepted to the Limited Duty Officer (LDO) program and commissioned Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG) in 1989. I ultimately achieved the rank of Lieutenant and retired as such on March 1, 1999.
Because of my extended time away from home and country I lost contact, what little there was, with most of my blood relatives I missed my maternal Grandmother's and both of my Step Father's funerals due to deployments. So in that regard, I started genealogy as a hobby. I wanted to get in touch with my "roots".
My paternal surnames are: Williams; Saunders; Armour and Powell.
My maternal surnames are: Killebrew; Simmons; Ely and Creason.
My Wife's Paternal surnames are: Wilks;Dickerson; Kimball; Zin (Zinn).
My Wife's maternal surnames are: Sippel; Massey; Wilsey (Wiltsey);Franklin.
Re-discovering Find A Grave, has helped me to fill in numerous blank spots in by trees. If I have created a memorial of any of your relations, that are not mine also, please let me know and I'll transfer them to you.

RE: Martin Wick
Great, glad I could help. I already sent an edit request for the name change.

Martin Wick
Hello Wayland

I claimed your request for Martin.

After getting ahold of my contact at the cemetery, I was told they don't have a Wick, but instead a Martin Wiek, with he same birth and death dates. I believe this is the guy, but whoever created his memorial misspelled the last name.

If you feel this is not him, let me know.

I believe I sent you an edit that included her death. Let me know if you didn't get it. It shows that I still have a pending edit for it.

Marica L. Kelsay
I have a copy of the Thurman Cemetery in Iowa up to March 10, 1997. I put all the names into Find A Grave if they were not already in there. I put Duane Leon, Faye V., Glen William, Marica L., and William John Kelsay in. The rest of the Kelsay names were added by someone else.

I did go back into the Thurman Cemetery book and checked on Marcia L. Kelsay. The record does say she was born on 26 Dec 1925 and died 5 June 1978.
I am not sure if Marica L. and Marvin Leon Kelsay are twins. I am not related to this family. If they are twins it seems rather odd that they would also have the same death date. But I guess it is possible.

Simmie South # 68421295
I found a marker for Simmie Inez South in the Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery in the niche area, Addition 12. I added the photo to your memorial but could you edit the burial info?

I planned to go to section 16 today and saw your request before I left. It also happened to be in section 16 and it appeared to not be too far from the one I was going for. I'm glad I checked - it was exactly to the right of the one I was fulfilling. They wanted to be found. Happy Hunting!

Find A Grave Memorial# 72191308 Don Morlock Rugee
Dear Wayland Thank you for your hard work posting for veterans and the information you listed for my Uncle Don.
Just as a further note to be added Uncle Don was cremated and his ashes were taken out to sea near Point Hueneme, Oxnard, Ventura, California.
Sincerely Todd Rugee

Atwell memorial
Thank you so much for adding the photo of the Atwell stone. I will have to do some research on the words and symbols which I find mysterious. Jeanette
