Jett cemetery near Mendota, Scott Co., VA
Just joined Find A Grave and noticed the posting about your having much information on the Jetts. I have just begun researching my husband's 3rd great grandfather James Jett(1784-1841) who married Mary Polly Livingston. They lived in Scott Co., VA near Mendota. We think we may have seen the Jett Cemetery in the distance today, but not sure. Would love hearing from you as to where you live and if you are related to this family of Jetts and Livingstons.

I guess this is another that i missed. Is it close to the Mort Jett and Sid Jett Cemetery? Sheldon Jett was my 6th cousin

RE: Jetts buried on Beach Farm
That is wonderful to hear. I was not able to locate it. I hiked quite a ways up the mountain, on a "road" that had been cleared for logging. How long ago were you there? I did walk past the barns, then through a meadow and over a creek, then i started up the hill on the left. How many stones are up there? The man who lives on that land now, in a trailer in the clearing at the end of the road, before you get to the barns, said that he had been up there 10 years ago and had seen the stones. He said that the cemetery was very overgrown at that time. Have you been tp the Sid, Mort, and Zek Jett cemeteries? They are very close to the Beach Farm one. I photographed all the Jett headstones in those and put them on Find A Grave. There are still many that are illegible, especially in the Zek Jett Family cemetery. It is very well maintained though and nice and clean. Do you go to the Jett Family Reunion that is held there each August? I would sure love to see what photos you have. I sent you an invitation to my family tree on Ancestry.com. Please take a look at my tree and let me know if you have more photos that i don't have. I am very glad to hear that the Beach Farm graves really do exist. After hiking up there i was almost convinced that it was a myth. or that they were all destroyed. It is amazing to me that they are buried that far up the mountain! That would have been such a climb to bury someone!!

Jetts buried on Beach Farm
Patricia my father and myself were just in Kentucky searching for the Jett graves. We went to the old Beach farm looking for Ezekiel's grave, We were told the cemetery was far up the mountain in the woods. We found a SPICER cemetery just off the main road as you turn into the old Beach Farm. How did you find the cemetery, and where was it? Did you have to hike all the way up into the mountain to find it, and if so how did you ever find it?
