I am from Alabama and have been interested in cemeteries and family history since I was a child, and have always loved to stroll through them and see the different memorials and epitaphs people have chosen to remember their loved ones with. I think "everybody is somebody" and all have a story to tell, and think that Find a Grave is a great way for people to share their loved ones stories and creat a memorial for them. Although some people think we are morbid, my sister Margaret and I share the same interest in cemeteries and have started researching the cemeteries where we have family members and posting our research here. If I have entered incorrect information, if you have something to add about someone posted, or if I have entered someone you do not want on this site, please let me know and I will either correct, add to, or delete them. We have tried to make our research as thorough as possible, and so have added as many names and dates as possible, and think this is a great way to preserve history for future generations. NOTE:I will be glad to work with you as much as possible to transfer any of your relatives over to you that I may have listed. However, the ALvis`s and Burks`s that I have listed are my direct descendants and they are not up for transfer, no matter if they have a bio written or not. Thank you for understanding! | |

 | RE: Lillie Mae Carolyn, I don't think that it was Lillie Mae and Ethridge that owned the store but I will ask Carl to be sure. If they didn't own it, it may have been a relative of theirs. Will get back to you later on this. MaxineAdded by Maxine on Jan 21, 2013 5:16 PM | | | Maxine
 | RE: family The Grund's did take this seriously, in Daddy's family there were 13 children born and 11 lived to adulthood. I was lucky also that my parents didn't stop with 2 or 3 children or I wouldn't be here either. I was the 4th child. MaxineAdded by Maxine on Jan 20, 2013 3:20 PM | | | Maxine
 | RE: links Thank you so much for the additions and links. You're right it is like a jigsaw puzzle to put all the pieces together. It is also like treasure hunting for me and I am finding little nuggets of gold, and I get so excited to put it all together. Belated Happy Birthday! Isn't it wonderful to have close family and friends! I hope you will soon be able to be out exploring grave sites like you used to do. Dean and his brother Bill found an old family cemetery of their ggggrandfather, it was on private property and they got permission from the owner, who turned out to be a distant cousin, and went to the site and cleaned off the brush and set up old grave stones that had fallen over. They also have permission to come back any time and do what ever restoration they want to do to the cemetery. Dean uses the internet to do investigations and his brother Bill uses the telephone and calls people, they gather a lot of information this way. Bill also puts a lot of information in F-A-G. I had better close for now, will be in touch soon. MaxineAdded by Maxine on Jan 18, 2013 8:08 AM | | | Bearkat91
