To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....

First, I don't link to Burial Unknown Site Memorials as BU shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site. When you made a BU, you have a chance of losing the memorial to the member who "Find A Grave" in the cemetery.

Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".

Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.

You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.

Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.

Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.

Remember to check on the Discussion Forums here. They are very newsy, helpful and interesting!

I leave nasty postings on my profile page so others can see just how rude and stupid people can to others. Most read and laugh.

RE: Welcome to Find A Grave
Just saw your sweet note and so sorry that I did things wrong. I see by your kind note that it has been about 4 months since you wrote this, I had a major surgery and now just getting back to feeling good Sorry it took so long to respond. I hope everyone that I added pictures took my pictures down by now, and I never added a grave that I didn't search for it first. My mistake and you don't have to police me anymore for I will never add anything again.

Thank you,
Janice Poolson

You have a photo request for Emma Thompson at Green Hill Church in Screven County Ga. I think I have what you are looking for but am not sure. I would rather email you the pictures and you make the determination. tomsmithjmc@gmail.com

RE: No grave marker found....
Linda,
As there was not plot information for Cassie listed in the request, I searched the database for any relatives that might also be buried at Arbutus Memorial Park and found Andrew's memorial. However, I was not sure that this was the correct Andrew Johnson, spouse of Cassie, as the obituary information claims she was survived in death by him. Since it is noted that she died in 1974, the Andrew Johnson under Memorial #134231375 did not fit as it shows he passed away in 1972 - two years before her. I inquired at the office for her location and was advised that their online database was down. The gentlemen I spoke to originally did a search for Cassie Johnson to no avail. Once I advised him that her husband's name was Andrew he did a second search and came up with the two plots located in Section O. If you feel strongly that the Andrew Johnson under Memorial #134231375 is the correct Andrew, I will return to the cemetery and take a look at the mausoleum spaces as that is where his FindAGrave picture was taken. Please let me know if you would like me to take a second look for Cassie.
Regards,
KDorsey

RE: Owners of Higginbotham Family Cemetery, Owens Farm Road, Yulee
Thanks, Linda. I will get a hold of Dot and Grumpy. What a great idea on the marker on Atlantic Ave, especially with the 250th anniversary of Florida's British Period. Who are the other RW Vets beside Burris?

Owners of Higginbotham Family Cemetery, Owens Farm Road, Yulee
Hey Linda;
I hope all is well. The West Nassau Historical Society and others are doing research on the British period in Florida. Do you know and/or have the contact info on the owners of the Higginbotham Family Cemetery on Owens Farm Road, Yulee? We are interested in Burris Higginbotham, Revolutionary War vet. The Historical Society is also placing a official historical marker in Kings Ferry next year. We will keep you posted on this.
Thanks
John H.

RE: Leaving Bio information left with flowers
Linda - thanks for contacting me. I will do things differently as I didn't realize they deleted the notes. I will add the info as a note and at the same time request a change or addition to the bio. As you know, some people will never change or add info. Thanks for your work on Find A Grave. I love adding info because it helps tie up loose ends.

RE: Leaving Bio information left with flowers
Hi Linda - I have asked Linda Sharp to include an excerpt from Goodspeed's in the bio. I couldn't figure out how you requested that I be credited but thank you.
