A Southern Family Tree is not a tree but a beautiful Wisteria Vine with many branches going everywhere and a lost root!
NSDAR 1988 Patriots: Rev. Lewis Cookson Davis, John Anderson, Charles Heard, William Hay, Lt. Willis Pope, Nathaniel Jones,John Stovall, Absalom Davis and Owen Griffin. Only one has a known grave site so the rest do not have memorials on FAG. (Update Nov 2015: found that other members are now making unknown burials of these patriots meeting their genealogy storage goal and not FAG's goal of recording graves sites)

To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....
First, I don't link to Burial Unknown Site Memorials as BU shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. Do not request relationship edits to a BU as it will be refused. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site. When you made a BU, you have a chance of losing the memorial to the member who "Find A Grave" in the cemetery.
Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".
If you are seeking transfer to "have all your family together" ~ use the virtual cemetery button. Then all of the memorials will be in the same "cemetery", and you can look at them daily.
Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.
You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.
Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.
Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.
Remember to check on the Discussion Forums here. They are very newsy, helpful and interesting!
RE: DAR Regent Helen Mar LeVoy Linda..I very much appreciate the context if your about this DAR Regent. Is there any way you might add some of this to her public biography ? Also a Manti on of her DAR activities or chapter involvement? I would like to hear more about her. Thank you for your work on this. IT is a real contribution. D.Montgomery
#82446558 Hi Linda - You have a photo request in for St. Ann's for this memorial. I have checked with both the Cemetery Office and the Diocese of Catholic Cemeteries, and neither can match this name and dod to a grave in St. Ann's. It would appear that the dod is correct based on Social Security records. Is it possible that he is buried in a different cemetery? Let me know what you find out. Thanks, Karen P.S. Both my husband and I have been sick for the past week, fever and bad colds, hope to get back out taking photos soon!
RE: Ed Bakey's memorial Yes they do Linda. I know Findagrave doesn't really allow famous distinction regard UB's. I have some famous golfers etc. I will send you a couple memorial numbers in a couple days for an example. I going out of town in an hours. Bye for now - Doug
RE: Ed Bakey's memorial Hi Linda - Thanks for the heads-up and for including my info in your bio for him. I never get my famous person bio's approved. Do you take on bio writing for other memorials? I think I've only got three approved out of dozens. Thanks again - Doug Sorensen
RE: Problem with posted photo Lillian Bower - I have only been taking photos for 2 months, and I am surprised at how many times the name is not on the marker - kind of sad - makes you wonder if the families paid for this and it was never done? Do you need this photo posted to another memorial? Thanks, Karen
RE: Problem with posted photo Lillian Bower - Hi Linda, I took this photo last week, because it was the marker for Section 49, Lot 79, which is what you had on your photo request, and what the contributor has on Lillian's memorial page. I called the office today and gave them Lillian's date of death and name and they confirm that she is buried in this Section and Lot. I posted the photo and left a note for the contributor with this information. Thanks, Karen
Hadessa and Mathias Bear Yes, I see the duplicates as the first one was put in with initials. However, the contributor has passed away and can't make changes of the correct name, dates or the obituary so the duplicatges will remain as I have entered more information for their descendants to locate. Thanks Linda.
