Bio Photo I love history especially my family history. I have taught history for 24 years with 21 of those years being Texas History. I've got ancestors all over the place and I love it when I can connect history to their already interesting story!

RE: Discussing George B. Johnson again
Gidget, I am so happy to hear that the George Johnson listed in Farmersville Cemetery is your great great great grandfather. That is amazing that you were able to find this out. I am not sure about his wives graves. Some of the stones are still lying face-down on the ground. We hope to have them back up when the work resumes on the project. Since it is summer and is so hot here in NW Georgia, and snaky in the cemetery, the work has come to a temporary halt, but it will resume in the fall. I do plan to go back over there soon and see about a photo of your George's monument. Do you want me to transfer him to you? Thanks, Tim

RE: Where did George die?
Gidget, I wish I knew more about the George Johnson buried at Farmersville. Unfortunately, I do not. We have started a preservation society for the cemetery, and we were working there each weekend before it became so hot. We will resume the work a little later. Do you know if your George Johnson ever lived in Chattooga County, Georgia? If he did indeed die at Vicksburg I personally find it doubtful that they would have shipped his body to Georgia for burial, especially in the heat of July. When I go back over there I will photograph his monument, and see if it looks to be authentic, but to the best of my memory it is a military marker. Perhaps his family placed it there so that he would not be forgotten. This is, of course, just a theory. Unfortunately, no documents for the old graves seem to be in existence. Let me know if there is any way that I can assist with your search on this end. Thanks, Tim

RE: Grave Memorial# 25122290
I'm not quite sure what you are saying. I understand that Frank Hinze is Frank Hinze Jr father but I can't add anything and I'm not related and if you are I would be glad to transfer to you. Take care

RE: Where did George die?
Gidget, I am sorry that I am not familiar with the name of George Johnson. I wish I could be of help, but have never heard of him. If you can give more information I will be glad to do any searching in this area. Thanks, Tim

Her Find A Grave Memorial# 133536229

I have down-sized many listings and I transferred her listing to another person. I know he will transfer it to you if you go to the memorial and you will see his name at the bottom of the page. I'm sure he will transfer to you.

The Miller Girls
HI, Gidget! I was at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Martindale, Tx today. I knew the Miller Girls, Ophelia, Thelma, Ruth, Mildred and Grace for years through Hill Country Church. We were in a women's prayer group together and were friends too. I was there to take some headstone photos for some requests I received and I went to visit Ruth's grave. Her headstone is lovely but the flowers need to be replaced. I took a couple of photos but they aren't as nice looking as I had hoped. I don't want to add them to your lovely memorial. I'm wondering if you have plans to add photos yourself. If so I will leave this for you to do. If not, I could get some fresh silk flowers for Ruth and do this for you. ALso, I think you can adjust the photo order to your liking if I add photos for you. Please let me know what you want to do.
Also, I love the photos you added for Ruth and the Miller girls.

Duplicate memorials
The memorial you made for Ophelia Wilma Hite #129764175 is a duplicate to the memorial I made - #114629777 back in July 30, 2013. Did you check to see if it was already there before you made the memorial?
Please delete your duplicate memorial. Would appreciate it.
