Bio Photo IMPORTANT NOTICE: Over the years I have left hundreds of memorial notes on Confederate veteran's FindAGrave memorial pages, using a particular Confederate Flag as a symbol. Recently I discovered that flag had been replaced with flowers. If you see one of my memorial messages left on a memorial page with flowers instead of the flag, please notify me so that I can make the appropriate changes.

Sons of Confederate Veterans Compatriot - Camp No. 1921 - The Tallassee Armory Guards.

Please feel free to use/share photographs and other historical information I've posted to memorials.

The Chattahoochee Valley Historical Society has endorsed FindAGrave and as a member of that society I have visited many cemeteries and added graves/memorials on its behalf.

I manage several hundred memorials in Chambers County, AL that Hank Rogers transferred over to me before he became inactive with F.A.G.

Also, most of the very old newspaper items on my memorials are through the courtesy of F.A.G. Member #47182102 who has painstakingly transcribed volumes of "The LaFayette Sun", the official newspaper of Chambers County, Alabama.

RE: Union Hill (?) Cemetery
Thanks Don for the correction. My cemetery photo of Pleasant Grove has been removed from Union Hill. Like you, I have asked the contributor to move Mrs. Adamson's memorial. No action yet. Sims?
I don't see anything so guess it was deleted or moved.

Ziff grave
Thank you for your transfer of the Ziff grave to the Temple Beth El Cemetery. It was most kind of you. Should you ever need anything for your research in the Spartanburg, SC area, please feel free to call on me.

RE: James H. Wise
the top photo is on his ancestry.com page, but it's a lot smaller - would you mind if I put these pictures up there?

RE: James H. Wise
Our relationship to you is pretty distant - Parham Lindsey Wise 1830-1862 was the son of IsIsaiah Lindsey Wise (1807 - 1836), son of Dr. Patton Wise (1769 - 1828), then back down - his son was John Johnson Wise (1796 - 1860), his son was Patton Alexander Wise (1825 - 1859), his daughter was Mary Ella Wise (1857 - 1932), she married James Wesley Newell and they had a son James K Newell Senior (1890 - 1967) (who was a football star at Auburn University), his son James K Newell Jr was my wife's grandfather. There's a tiny picture of the James A. Wise house on his page on ancestry.com, but I would love to get a nice big one to put on his page.

RE: Myrtis Burton
Thanks Don; when I was growing up, as a child many of the Burtons were our neighbors, John, Charlie, and Edison I remember well from my childhood. My father was Fred Phillips and my paternal grandparents were James Bennett Phillips and Olif Henderson Strother Phillips (they are buried at Mt Zion Baptist Church Cemetery at Tiller Crossroads).
Thanks Again Don,
Jim

RE: Samuel Wilson
I understand fully. You trust people.
Thank you so much. It is confusing lots of people. If Samuel had all the children people try to add to him he would have had to live 200 years and had a dozen wives. I added the will and War of 1812 write ups to him in case you want to see them. Again thank you so very much. Kay Ponder

Okay I added the marriage record to Find A Grave on William TISON. Sorry it took me a while but am still recovering from major surgery.
