John J Howard
Are you related to John. His brother, Robert Howard is one of my great grandfathers. Their father, Silas Howard, died serving the 34th Ms Infantry after General Bragg's Army of Tennessee 1863 march from Perryville, Kentucky through Cumberland Gap to Knoxville, Tn. Silas is buried behind the Mabry house in the Confederate Cemetery on Bethel Avenue, Knoxville, Tn. Their march from Chattanooga to Perryville took them less than 30 miles from my home on the Cumberland Plateau.
