Walking, I am listening to a deeper way.
Suddenly all my ancestors are behind me.
Be still, they say. Watch and listen.
You are the result of the love of thousands.
~ Linda Hogan (1947-present)
"No love, no friendship, can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever."
~ Francois Mocuriac
THE FORGOTTEN GRAVE, by Emily Dickinson
After a hundred years
Nobody knows the place, --
Agony, that enacted there,
Motionless as peace.
Weeds triumphant ranged,
Strangers strolled and spelled
At the lone orthography
Of the elder dead.
Winds of summer fields
Recollect the way, --
Instinct picking up the key
Dropped by memory.
by JOHN MASEFIELD (1878-1967) found after his death in a note left for his"Heirs, Administrators, and Assigns":
Let no religious rite be done or read
In any place for me when I am dead,
But burn my body into ash, and scatter
The ash in secret into running water,
Or on the windy down, and let none see;
And then thank God that there's an end of me.
A COUNTRY BURIAL, by Emily Dickinson
Ample make this bed.
Make this bed with awe;
In it wait till judgment break
Excellent and fair.
Be its mattress straight,
Be its pillow round;
Let no sunrise' yellow noise
Interrupt this ground.
"They say such nice things about people at their funerals that it makes me sad that I'm going to miss mine by just a few days."
~ Garrison Keillor

It is my pleasure to transfer memorials to someone I know will take care of them and continue to keep them updated.

Thank you for sponsoring the memorial for
Matilda Caroline Herndon Williams.
I have noticed what a great job you do on your memorials so I transferred this memorial as well as her father's over to your care.

Thank you so much for adding the photo to Charles Chandler's memorial! May I ask where it came from? He was my 3x-great-grandfather.
|Kelli Smith||Oak Park Cemetery|
There are two graves, one for Lizzie Vaile and the other for Susanna Vaile, that I photos of.
I noticed that they weren't requested, but you may find interesting.
Let me know!

I am quite curious about the photo of J. Harold Shomo (Memorial #81071178) which you have added to his memorial page. Where did you get this photo? Are you by chance related?

Hollywood cemetery, Richmond, Virginia. I have added to FindAgrave memorial, a map of soldiers section.
Most of the civil war soldiers buried here are in mass graves. Less than 10% of all soldiers have a grave marker. Any burial identified as being in section U, W or lot 703 .... is a mass grave.
Hollywood is a private cemetery. It is well funded and has a friendly, helpful, full time staff that can help with inquiries regarding burials. Please note, many civil war soldiers were not identified. Civil war death records were made by volunteers therefore much information is incorrect, incomplete or non existent.
If you would like me to remove map from memorial, please let me know.

Dear Mrs. Ruth Breslin,
I saw you sponsored Richard Harvey coming from Ablemarle County, Virginia.
We are a direct line of kin from A Richard Harvie/Harvey.
That Richard had a dad Col. John Harvie/Harvey, Sr. and the graphic I show is a son Col. John Harvie/Harvey , Jr. in my Find A Grave Membership Info.
Please elaborate and tell me more on your Fourth Great Grandfather, please.
Jonathan Robert De Mallie
