Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Connie.
Most of the entries I have made have
some relation to my family.

I'm interested in the names:

Bowman, Bauman, Baumann,
Bruffett, Burgan, Bradley
Bernarte, Cassata, DiCara,
Liberto, Liberta, Steineke, Albert,
Polizzotto, Polelle, Paulsat/Paulset, Sapp,
McMillian, Knott, Wells, Carpenter,
Whitt, Robinson, Carneal,
Fagley/Fegley and Voegle.

I'm especially looking for any information about Peter Bowman (Bauman) who lived in Pennsylvania and married Christina Fagley/Fegley (Voegle) in Berks County PA. and had 14 children the youngest being Major Reuben Bowman born July 4,1806. They moved to Fairfield County, Ohio, about 1816. I haven't been able to find the names of the other children or trace any further back. Reuben married Sarah "Harriet" Bradley in Fairfield County, Ohio. They had 11 chidren. Reuben and Sarah's family moved to Monticello, Piatt County, Illinois about 1852.

We joined a DNA Project to try and find out more about our Bowman ancestors. We are Kit# 23256. So far we have had no matches to our DNA. The link to the Bowman Family DNA Project is below my email address. If you are a Bowman or know a Bowman male check it out.

You are welcome and thanks for the information. I will be going there this Friday to find my own family member and will take care of your request then.

Raymond Steineke
I see that you have a photo request for Raymond Steineke in the Irving Park Cemetery in Chicago, IL. It would be very helpful if you could call the Irving Park Cemetery office at (773) 625-3500 and see if the will supply you with the Section Name and Block Number for her. There are many requests that I will try to fulfill but I can't walk in there with a list of people or they won't look them up. Explain that you live out of state and that you have a genealogist coming in the photograph the headstone of your family member. Hopefully they will supply you with the information. The cemetery is very large and will take a long time to find it just walking around.

Let me know if they give you the info and what it is. I will then go and fulfill your photo request.

Thank you.

RE: Charles Bowman
I am sorry the photo for Charles Bowman was not what you were looking for. I will check with the library and historical society and see if I can find a photo of it for you. I know the historical society frowns upon posting their photos online so I would have to email it to you personally.

I will let you know if I can get a copy of a photo for you.

Monticello, IL photo request
I photographed what little remains of the stone for Charles Bowman. The stone has long been broken off and all that is remaining is the base. I know this doesn't necessarily fulfill your photo request but I went ahead and uploaded a photo of the grave site itself with the remainder of the stone.

Photo requests at Metairie Cemetery
I see you have a photo request at Metairie Cemetery. I'm out at Metairie often, but the cemetery is huge. There are currently 87 requests for photos there. If I present a list of 87 graves asking for locations, the lady will probably shoot me. If you can call the cemetery and get the location, I'll be happy to try to locate the grave and take a photo for you. The phone number of the cemetery office is 504-486-6331.

Be aware that Metairie has locations listed by who owns the cemetery plot. For example, they couldn't find my uncle who died in 2006 until I realized he was buried with his in-laws who died in the 1960s. When you call, have a list of other surnames for them to check under in case your person is buried with in-laws, etc.

RE: Mary Hahn
You're welcome. And as I told JD, it is a shame that there are not individual markers for either the Nora Moffit or Mary Hahn. It is interesting that a family would share a monument like this one; it is the first one I have come across. But it makes perfect sense if you have adjoining plots. It is also interesting that the office told JD that their spouses are not buried there. These are rather large plots for there to be only one person buried in each one. There must have been a reason, I guess. Anyway, good luck in your further research. I will watch for your name in future photo requests at Inglewood Park.
Sincerely,
Bonnie

RE: Mary Elizabeth
Theodore was the son of Harvey and Ada.
Grandson of Harrison and Lydia.
I was glad to take the photo.
I could not find a stone for Peter Davis.
PB P has a lot of open places/without
markers.I looked in the Lebanon cemetery
book to see if he is in unmarked grave,
but it didn't list him that way.I will
have to ask the office about him.
