PLEASE REQUEST TRANSFERS.... I will transfer listings if you are family or for other good reasons unless related to me, just tell me your relationship or reason. Most transfers will be granted, my transfer rules are more lax than guidelines. My goal is to have all my listings turned over to family members!
IMPORTANT: If sending me information to add, please give me source of information. Do not just send something like "Maiden name was Jones". Without sources, sorry, but I will not add information.
Find-A-Grave is a natural extension of my long time hobby of genealogy. I've researched the Barrick line and published a book on Johann Nicholas Barrick and his descendants, originating in the Cumberland & Perry County areas of Pennsylvania. I've searched many graveyards, and have seen stones that were in such disrepair, that I wondered what would ever happen to them as time marched on. So, when I found this site, I thought it would be a wonderful way to preserve, if not the actual stone, at least a replica for future genealogists, and felt it would be a great hobby.
If you find any errors, let me know. If you have bio or notes to add to my listing, I'll review them and add them as appropriate, I do need documentation of dates or other information before I will list it. I may add the info and use your contributor name as the source.
I'm also a volunteer photographer for the area. If you have a photo that is better than any I have posted, please post it, let me know via the "hint" and I will delete my photo if appropriate.
I try to find obituary information for some of my memorials to honor the life of the person, which also may give some leads for my fellow genealogists doing research.

 | George & Lottie Nicholson Thank you so much for the photo of their tombstone. I have just started on my husband's family tree, as I had hit a brick wall on my father's side.
We are retired and live in AZ with little hope of getting to PA. for doing family history. I don't want people confused so I usually go by my previous Surname.
Unfortunately he never knew them as his father left the family when he was a baby. His father was Clarence.

 | RE: Barrick photos Cool. I'm leaving the house but I'll look them up and claim them if I can find a location for all of them when I get home. Of course I'm going to need to find a day without rain. It seems unrelenting, but my husband claims that it's supposed to be gone tomorrow. | | | | [View all messages...] |
