Kris Burns, UK (#46591580)
member for 6 years, 2 months
Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi, my name is Kris Burns (nee Ockenden)

I was born & raised in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, SE England, & now live in the NW of England.

I am tracing our family tree, & I am interested in the following surnames:
OCKENDEN, MUSK, PYLE, POTTER, OSBORNE, JEX & KIRBY. (no matter where they are in the world!)

My late Father died of cancer, & his wish was to be cremated & his ashes scattered at sea. I did this for him, but felt sad that I did not have a place to go to remember him, until a friend told me about this site! I now feel, so much happier, and can visit him when ever I feel the need.
(My Father is set up under my previous membership, but is now also linked to this newer membership, thanks to my clever husband!)

I have also started to add other deceased relatives, such as my Grand Parents, who I have linked to other family relatives as well. Sadly, I live too far away from their graves to visit.

As of August 2009, I have been searching out members of my husband's family from West Derby, Lancashire (now Merseyside). I have visited the cemetery there and have found several graves for those who died in WW1 & WW2. I have listed them on here and will gladly transfer to any living relative who wishes to take ownership.

I am also interested in Manchester United FC,
(The Busby Babes) & The BEACH BOYS
(Carl Wilson & Dennis Wilson) who's graves I have visited, via this excellent web site.

A BIG THANK YOU, to everyone who visits my family & friends on this memorial site. Your tokens mean a lot to me. I try to say thank you to each of you, but sometimes you may be over looked. Please forgive me.

***UPDATE 23 September 2009***
A BIG THANK YOU, to all you wonderful people who have helped me through the sad loss of my Great Aunt Jo Ockenden. Yes, it is a sad time, but I feel so loved & uplifted. So thank you my friends, I just hope that I can do the same for each of you, when you need a helping hand.

You remind me of "Footprints in the sand..."

Words cannot explain my gratitude to my new friends,
* Jean from Atoka, OK, for sponsoring my Father & Mother's memorials.
* Nora Ann, for sponsoring my little Sammie's memorial.
* Ronald & Janice for sponsoring my cousin Alistair Musk's memorial.
* Debra Felger, from Ohio, USA, for sponsoring my husband's little Aunt - Freda Ann Burns, and my Great Aunt Jo Ockenden's memorials.

If your wondering who to visit;
*Charles Henry Ockenden was my Father
*Daisy Florence Musk Ockenden was my Mother.
*Sammie Ockenden Phillips was my third child, who I sadly miscarried.
*Charles Henry Ockenden II my paternal Grandfather.
*Sarah Pyle Ockenden my paternal Grandmother.
*William Elijah Musk my maternal Grandfather.
*Florence Amelia Potter Musk my maternal Grandmother.
*William Henry Musk my Uncle & God Father, his wife *Olive Jemima Cobb Musk & their son, my cousin *Alistair Patrick Musk
*Jo Ockenden my Great Aunt.

From there you can follow the links to other family members.

If you have time please also visit;
*my Husband's little Auntie, Freda Ann Burns who left this world far too soon.
*Phil Plumbley the husband of my friend Donna.
*Peter Craven Speedway World Champion.
*My dear friends, 5 of whom passed over in 2009.

On my waunderings I found this:

AS I LIVE EACH DAY,
MAY I DO MY PART
TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
AND TOUCH ONE HEART
EACH DAY IT IS MY GOAL
TO BRING SMILES AND
LAUGHTER INTO A SOUL.

I dedicate that to all those here on FAG, who I will probably never meet, but who have been like dear friends, when I've needed them most.
A simple token left for your loved ones, is so up lifting! You never feel alone, and know that others also know & share feelings of deep sadness & loss.

Hello Friend
For you at Thanksgiving:

Let us remember the true meaning of Thanksgiving.
As we see the beauty of Autumn, let us acknowledge
the many blessings which are ours...
Let us think of our families and friends..
And let us give thanks in our hearts.

Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving
Much love & hugs,
~Becky~

Diane*
for you
My Thanksgiving wish for you is to be reminded of what really counts and what remains important, no matter what our circumstances and what life brings. To cherish all the special people and moments along the way.

I am always talking about hope. Hope is the candle in the night when you can't see. For all of our lives are night, and hope brings light to it. As we come into the Christmas Holidays we are all missing someone. This will be my first without my Mother. The pain is almost unbelievable.

The days are getting shorter and night comes so fast and I go looking for hope. The hope to light the way...each and everyone of your ways. Don't let go of hope, they would not want you to. Life is beautiful and meaningful and one day when our hopes come true we will all be together again.

"Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever."
He has charge over our loved ones, he remains faithful and he will wrap them in a blanket of our love so that they can feel the love left on this earth for them. I do believe that God understands our need to communicate our love to our Angels. Love is our link to them.

I Send you Hope, and Love ,and Joy to you and your family's as we celebrate togetherness and long standing love, and lost loves found.

Take time to feel the great love of family, the love of an Internet family, and hold on to hope.

With Love,

Diane
