Johann G. Rall (or Rahl)
I found history on John Rall/Rahl saying he was born 1726 in Germany. As one in his regiment said they wouldn't have been taken captive alive if Col. Rahl hadn't been shot (according to Rob Lowe's Who Do You Think You Are segment) I believe his death was the very turning point in the American Revolution! I'm checking out the Roehl branch of my family history, who are from central Germany/Luxembourg, to see if the Johann Rohl/Rall was related. Rob Lowe's segment brought out the fact (even thru' a letter from George Washington) that this regiment was only "hired soldiers" from Germany, working for G.Britain, so they were "innocent". 15% of them chose to remain with being Rob Lowe's 5th GGrandfather. If Rahl/Rall is a relative of mine, I forgive him!
