How right you are about Fred MacMurray being underappreciated and underrated. His comical expressions could make me laugh until tears rolled down my cheeks--and then I found myself "hating" him in The Apartment, fascinated by him in Double Indemnity and loving him in Alice Adams and Remember The Night. He and Claudette Colbert were a fantastic screen team who are rarely mentioned when the subject comes up. We are in good company; Robert Osbourne of TCM also says he is totally underrated.
