Oscar L Thompson - Napa Military Cemetery
Oscar was my paternal grandfather's half-brother. Oscar was born 15 December 1844 in
Wyanet, Bureau Co, IL to Moses Mitchell Thompson (1810-1897) and his first wife Maryette Lamereaux (1824-1847). Oscar had three full sisters (Elnora, Adeline, and Maryette), and eight half brothers and sisters from his father's second marriage to Cynthia Ann Raines (Alfred, William, Ellen, Eli, Anson, Henry, Lillian Grace, and Ora).

Oscar was married to Sadie Straub in the 1880's and divorced from her by 1900. They had two sons, Ora (1884-1886) and Earl or Carl (1888-1890), both of whom died in Walla Walla WA. Oscar died 23 February 1917, I believe at the Home for Volunteer Civil War Soldiers near San Francisco.

Alva Martin Pritchard
Thank you for transferring Alva to me. My Gram's half sister and I went over there one day but we couldn't find his headstone many years ago. I'm glad someone did. That was long before I got into genealogy and I admit we gave up too soon.

RE: Re: Joseph Leavitt Photo
Hello Betty

Sadly, I've been away from my cemeteries for a while. Work, health, and (living) family demanded my attention and I fell away from it. Hopefully I'll be back out there taking pictures and posting memorials this spring.

Hope you are doing well!
