|Stephen DeFreytas||Thank you, Cousin John!|
I really appreciate you taking the time to add this photo of my grandparents gravestone! I had never seen it before, and living quite a distance away, it's unlikely that I'd have gotten there to see it; so this is certainly the next best thing. This also gives me the opportunity to pursue having my grandfather's name/dates added to the stone, which until your intervention, I had no idea this wasn't even on his stone!
Thanks again, John - I owe you one!

You are welcome. I just realized that the photos transferred sideways. I tried to eliminate a step and downloaded them from my phone to FindAGrave. Not a good idea! I have corrected the images. Kitty ;0)

|K. TRACY||HICKEY FAMILY FROM NEWFOUNDLAND|
I wanted to add the following info, but couldn't last night.
David and Catherine HICKEY's only daughter, Alice Maria, was my Great-Grandmother. She was born in Torbay in April 1861and baptized at Holy Trinity RC Church. Alice had 5 brothers, all born before her; Richard J, Patrick J, William F, Henry M, and John T. As far as I know, she was the only one to leave for Brooklyn, New York. She is buried at St. John's Cemetery in Queens, New York.
I realize that HICKEY was/is a common name for Nfld at that time, but hey, you never know! Thanks for reading.

|K. TRACY||HICKEY FAMILY|
I see that your Hickey family went from Ireland to Newfoundland. My Hickey family did too. They set up their home in Torbay, NFLD. My 2G-grandfathers first name was David and his wife's name was Catherine Roache. Her 1st husbands surname was Power. Any connection?

You're very welcome. I was pleasantly surprised to actually find it because although the cemetery is marked really well, I haven't been able to find a lot of requests. I don't know if the stones are no longer there or if the information provided by the office is incorrect.
