I have been backtracking my postings to make corrections or add information. By doing this, it has come to my attention that some of postings transfered have been deleted and re-posted by the person asking for the transfer. This situation has made me decide not to transfer any postings until further notice. Any addition or correction of a posting will still be honored. For those requesting transfers, please read the Find A Grave rules on requesting them. These can be found on the FAG home page under frequently asked questions. We should only request Direct Relatives (ie: parents, siblings, grandparents and great-grandparents up to 4 generations) be transferred. When requesting a transfer, please use the edit button and state the relationship that person is to you. When posting a name, please make sure that person has not been posted already. | |

 | RE: Martins Mennonite Cemetery Does the church have sexton records -- sales of lots and records of burials? I'm planning another trip to the Orrville area in late June and could stop at the church if they do. I just found the church website on the internet and emailed them asking about sexton's records.Added by Jim Gill on Jun 15, 2013 6:49 AM | | | SARAH GREZLIK
 | RE: Pofahl Please do ... we are trying to find descendants. Thanks, Sarah | | | Jim Gill
 | Martins Mennonite Cemetery Thank you for posting the memorials for Jonathan and Hannah Rife. I don't know if they are related to me or not, but I will try to track them down. The book The Mennonite Cemeteries of Medina County says a Mary (Ressler) Rife, wife of John Reiff/Rife is buried at Martins Mennonite Church. Do you know of a way to confirm or deny that? Thank you!Added by Jim Gill on Jun 10, 2013 2:57 PM | | | Jason Walker

 | memorial Is it acceptable to add a memorial for someone who is still living?
Please try to avoid it. In general, we do not encourage adding memorials for individuals who are still living. We do realize, however, that when transcribing a cemetery, it is not always possible to determine if the person is living or not. Please do not add pre-need memorials from (1931-present) to Find A Grave. Memorials for individuals who are alive will be removed when requested (the exception being for 'famous' individuals who already have a burial location in place). You are always welcome to create a 'pre-need' memorial for yourself, if you would like, provided that you have a pre-need headstone already in place in a cemetery.
Creating memorials for people who are still living is in bad taste. Do your homework, check the SSDI that is free and easily done.
The memorial done in 2012 was a fake. You can not have a memorial for a living person. People should be called on it, so that this practice stops. | | | jean
