Vanessa, do you have a Bible or a birth certificate for Henry showing his middle name to be Hobbs? I am trying to help some other Pulliams with this family. If you would like to contact me by e-mail my address is on the entries on Mitchell cemetery. thank you

Memorials #17332216 & # 17332257
First, thanks for your contributions!

I am studying my 5th great grandparents, Jacob and Catharina Arendt who died near what is now Arendtsville, Adams County, PA. I question the birth locations in each of their memorials. I do not KNOW where they were born. I just note that it is unlikely they were born in Venango County or York County as is indicated. Neither of those counties existed in 1729 and 1730. Of course Adams County was carved out of York County in 1800. Those could just be modern identities of their birth locations. But, even so, there just were not many Europeans living in either of these counties that early. They may just as well have been born in Europe. Despite my suspicions, it is possible.

If you have any specific clues that led you to indicate the birth location, I would appreciate knowing.

There isn other memorial for this same Catherine Arndt tombstone memorial but the contributor has conflated this Catherine Arndt with the daughter and daughter-in-law of Johann Bernhard Arndt of Northampton County for whom I can find no relationship with my Jacob Arndt and his wife Catherine UNK.

These are the last of my Arndt line that I can track with any reliability and I want to go further. This is why I am digging so deep into the details.

Again thanks for work with Find a Grave.

RE: Charles Martin Ridley
I'm sorry, I don't have the original. When I find a photo on ancestry.com I always try to share it on Find a Grave. I try to find larger pictures on ancestry but mostly that's the way people originally post them. I haven't had luck contacting to get larger ones. You can try, right clicking on the photo, go to save target as, download as document, open, and print it larger from there. Often, they aren't clear enough to enlarge. I have lots of family info if you go on ancestry.com, my tree is the Edington/Reel tree.
Good luck. Elaine

Abraham Hoff, Paradise Cem.
Vanessa,
I have been talking to Ed Seela about the information he gave you about Abraham Hoff. Ed isn't sure about the 1871 death date for Abraham or even that he is buried in Paradise Cem. My records show that Abraham Hoff was buried in the Avilla Cem. sometime between 1870 and 1880, but I don't have any proof of this. Abraham and his wife were living with his son John Hoff in 1870 in McDonald Twp., Jasper Co., which is near the Avilla Cem. Most of the Hoff family is buried there. Unless you have some evidence that Abraham was buried in Paradise Cem., I would remove his memorial from there. Thanks for taking an interest in Abraham's memorial.
