Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in Emporia, Va., 3 doors down from Emporia Cemetery. Maybe that is why I enjoy searching cemeteries. My wife think I need help. Whenever we are on vaction or traveling I always stop at least one cemetery. She sleeps late on Saturdays so I take that time to grave hunt in Greensville, Southampton, Brunswick, Sussex Counties. And I even venture down into North Carolina on occasion.

On a recent escapade I found a old forgotten family cemetery with two obvious graves. After researching the family, I felt there must be more graves. After scratching around in about 7 inches of ivy and moss that had been collecting for about 80 years, I discovered two more stones that had turned over and were buried in vines. I wouldn't have been more excited if I had struck gold. I am a sick man!

Please visit my Parents, Jack 6938082 and Virginia,9727630 or my grandparents in the Independence Methodist Cemetery of Greensville county. They are John Henry and Fannie S. Ferguson Ivey. My great grandparents, civil war vet John Lewis Ivey and his wife Sarah J. Mitchell.

I am especially interested in the Ivey's, Ferguson's, and Mitchells in Greensville and Brunswick Counties of Va. and the Pittmans and the Armstrongs in Nash and Edgecombe counties of North Carolina.

God Bless you and Happy Hunting

Buck,
You are very welcome. I have several ancestors buried at Antioch and once I got started, I took pictures of all the headstones and footstones and entered them in Find a Grave.

RE: Graham Murphy Andrews
Thank you. I am looking for the burial place of George David Andrews. He, too lived in Rosemary, N.C. when he died. They are bound to be kin.
below is a link to George's page on findagrave. I added him to Maplewood Cemetery, but i am not sure he is buried there or even in the Raleigh-Durham area. His wife and children are all buried in Halifax County, N.C.
thanks!

RE: Washington Ivie
yes your clues were excellent... we were able to go straight to his headstones. sadly we get into bad habits and assume when we see family plots, in this case Walker we don't look as closely for other names within those family areas.
