Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in Emporia, Va., 3 doors down from Emporia Cemetery. Maybe that is why I enjoy searching cemeteries. My wife think I need help. Whenever we are on vaction or traveling I always stop at least one cemetery. She sleeps late on Saturdays so I take that time to grave hunt in Greensville, Southampton, Brunswick, Sussex Counties. And I even venture down into North Carolina on occasion.

On a recent escapade I found a old forgotten family cemetery with two obvious graves. After researching the family, I felt there must be more graves. After scratching around in about 7 inches of ivy and moss that had been collecting for about 80 years, I discovered two more stones that had turned over and were buried in vines. I wouldn't have been more excited if I had struck gold. I am a sick man!

Please do not hesitate to send corrections. Write me at or send a public message.

Please visit my father, Jack and mother, Virginia and grandparents from their links.

I am especially interested in the Ivey's, Ferguson's, and Mitchells in Greensville and Brunswick Counties of Va. and the Pittmans and the Armstrongs in Nash and Edgecombe counties of North Carolina.

God Bless you and Happy Hunting

RE: Clements Gordon b.1782 d.1886
Thank you so much for your quick reply!..IF I have any luck in the future I will let you know. I am tracing my grandmother, Bertha Gordon Webb's family and other than Clement have had fair luck. Grandmother's mother was a Ferguson and I am just locating their graves. Again, thank you!

Clements Gordon b.1782 d.1886
Hi Buck, I am Clements gggg granddaughter. I have searched the Forest Hill Cemetery and the Gordon Family Cemetery in Greensville County (Pine Log Rd) However, I have had no luck finding his grave or that of his wife Susan Pair (Parr). Any hints or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

RE: Lila Delbridge Pollard
The one in Emporia Cemetery was when you look at the cemetery and scan through all the burials. It came up under Delbridge I think. I was looking for her first husband who I ultimately found in the Delbridge Cemetery.

Don't see it
Hey Buck!
We're talking about Zion Cemetery at Skippers? I get 12 Jones - all different - and no Robert Eddie Jones. Senden Sie mir den Gedenknummer , bitte.

Virginia Watkins Rich (Boerlin)
Please look at your memorials 134439520 for Virginia Alice Watkins Rich and 41588147 for Virginia Watkins Rich Boerlin. I believe they are possibly the same person. I posted a picture of the marker for Virginia Watkins Rich Boerlin on that memorial (41588147), but noticed the date of birth on the memorial is 25 Dec 1915 and the marker is December 12, 1915, which agrees with the information on the other memorial. The other memorial has a photo request, but I did not post the pictures as the Boerlin name was not on that memorial. Please let me know which is correct so I can ensure the pictures are posted on the correct memorial. Thanks!

Thanks for helping me find my grandmother! I never met her as she died right after I was born and I'd love to know if there's a maiden name on her headstone as I've hit a roadblock on
You mentioned in your profile you lived close to Greensville Memorial Cemetery where she is. Also, her grandson is buried there, Gordon Andrew Bogdan who died very young. Any pics of his gravestone would be appreciated as well!
Thanks in advance to my request & bless you for helping so many find their families!
