Joseph Robison
Hi Sue,
I'm writing about the birth year you have on your record for Find A Grave Memorial# 7928941; Joseph Robison. You show Birth: Sep. 3, 1801; Death: Aug. 20, 1881. I found a record at Ancestry.com Knox County, Ohio, Vital Records, 1800-1882:
Name: Joseph Robinson
Birth Place: Maryland
Birth Date: 1806
Father's Name: Solomon Robinson
Mother's name: Rebecca Workman
Date of Death: After 1881

I see the year of his birth is hard to read on the picture of his headstone - could it possibly be 1806 and not 1801??
Thanks, Peggy

Emily [Davidson] Baldwin
Hi Sue,

Thank you for updating Emily Davidson's memorial. I was puzzled too about her husband as I couldn't find out where he was buried and from the census records it appears that when she died, she was a widow. I did find her marriage certificate at familysearch.org - the original certificate is viewable, and also I found her death record there. Interesting as she appears to be listed on the 1860 census as Emily Davidson, so I wondered if she went back to using her maiden name after her husband died - unless he left her. In that era some divorced women were embarrassed to admit divorce and declared themselves to be widows. I couldn't find any death record at familysearch for her husband. If you'd like me to email you links or any of the records I found let me know. She's my 3rd great aunt (her brother is my 3rd great-grandfather) - if she is the dau. of Matthew Davidson. They are a difficult family to research!

Thanks again, Alma

Festus LONEY - parentage correction
Hi Sue,
Thanks for all the work you do sharing gravestone information on this site - it so so VERY much appreciated. I recently came across the information you posted on the LONEY family in Workman Cemetery, Danville, Knox, Ohio, in particular Judson LONEY and his wife Effie R BANBURY. You list 3 sons, including Festus Loney, who is really his nephew, son of Judson's brother Festus Loney Sr (who is buried in Mount Vernon, Ohio, on find-a-grave). Here is his indexed birth registration from familysearch:
- 1887 "Ohio, County Births, 1841-2003"
name: Festus Loney
event: Birth
event date: 24 Apr 1887
event place: Howard [Town], Knox, Ohio
gender: Male
father: Festus Loney
mother: Flora M. Mckinzie
illegitimate: yes
reference number: v 2 p 143
film number: 1299056
digital folder number: 004978868
image number: 00447

Judson did have 3 sons: Darwin Donald, Paul Quincy and Harry Dudley. Paul died in Mt Vernon Ohio in 1984 but I don't think his burial is recorded on this site yet.

I would really appreciate it if you could remove the links for Festus from the memorials for Judson and Effie Loney.
Many thanks!
