RE: 88726958 Harper Hillman House
I stopped by the United Methodist Church on Millbrook Road today and found Thomas Fletcher House's grave. The death date is 1880. Norman Fletcher House was born in 1890.

Did you look at the 1940 census information where I got "Doris" as one of the youngest three girls. Did Manuella or Marjorie have "Doris" as a part of their name. These two seem to be reversed as to birth date on the 1940 census with Marjorie born in 1934 and Doris in 1937. I am thinking Doris must actually be Marjorie. Any thoughts??

Thanks for looking at this.

House Family
I have searched this morning and can find nothing about Thomas Fletcher House other than his headstone. Maybe I can go by the cemetery the next time I am in that area and look it up. If 1890 is the correct date vs 1880 we need to get that corrected on his memorial at Find A Grave. Either way it needs to be verified. Maybe you have already verified it?? If so I won't make a trip. Your family is the best source we have.

Dorcas:

1920 Census:(originally shown as Celey)
Wade Hamilton Seley, head, age 26, born 1894
Dorcas Seley - age 47, born 1873
Electra Myrtle Seley - age 14, born 1906
Thurman (Thomas) Seley - age 12, born 1908
Nellie Gray Seley - age 10, born 1910
Connie L Seley - age 7, born 1913
John Pullen Seley - age 3, born 1917

Thought this might help with Dorcas' information.

RE: 88726958 Harper Hillman House
According to records I have found, Thomas Fletcher House was born and died August 10, 1880.

Norman F House was born March 21, 1890 and died July 14, 1967 and is buried in the Ferrell House cemetery at Knightdale.

That puts their birth 10 years apart. ?????

There is a headstone for Thomas Fletcher on Find A Grave but the date cannot be read. The contributor used August 10, 1880 (could have been on the back side).

Additional Question:
In looking at the 1940 census (Hopper H Hause):
Harper H - 54, born about 1886
Ruth - 42, born about 1898
Harper H - 13, born about 1927
Talmadge - 11, born about 1929
Howard - 10, born about 1930
Rebecca (I corrected) - 8, born about 1932
Marjorie - 6, born about 1934
Doris (Doria) - 3, born about 1937

Your mother would have been born at the time of this census and must be one of the last three, right??

There is a Doris (daug) of Ava House at Knightdale but she was born and died in 1921.

Thanks so much for your help.

RE: Talmadge Wesley House
Thanks for the additional information. A memorial (#133554278) was created in July of 2014 after I had created one for Talmadge and she does have a very nice marker. Her name there is Aprile Rene House but everything else matches up. I have linked her to Talmadge. I know there are efforts to create memorials for Montlawn burials where none exists.

Anytime you have information to share I welcome it as well as any corrections.

Thanks for your contributions.

Good Morning.
If you will go to the siblings memorial and click on the edit tab, you can request the changes there.

There are about 15 or 20 in my radius that I do go buy and look for new stones. I watch the death notices on each of our 2 funeral homes and 3 in Franklin Co.

I have not been very good at my goal this year. I have not been in the best of health, and I just got out of the hospital Friday last.

Thank You for doing the leg work and grouping them in. You know that this is a feature that we have only had a few years

If I can help you further just let me know.

RE: 88726958 Harper Hillman House

The asterisks are put there automatically by Find-A-Grave. Sometimes they can be misleading. Ada and Ruth's memorials list their respective children only but due to links between children and father, his memorial will list all of them together.

If you will verify the last three children's names and birth dates, I will add a note to his memorial to specify which children belong to Ada and to Ruth as clarification. Apparently Ada had a daughter, Doris - born and died in 1921. I am thinking Ada died during childbirth. Ruth had a daughter, Doris, born about 1937 according to the 1940 census.

The last three children appear to be Raitta (?), Marjorie and Doris according to the 1940 census.

I will be glad to add any additional information and links.

Thanks for this information on Annie Pounds. I'm still curious what brought them to rural North Carolina. Let me know if you find anything.

RE: Lillie M. Crawford Central Baptist Church Cemetery
Thanks,
I just don't want to pack information that turns out to untrue. I have done this and made terrible mistakes.
Do you have her memorial listed on Oakwood? I will transfer this or delete it.
Just let me know
Tim

RE: Lillie M. Crawford Central Baptist Church Cemetery
Good Morning,
If you would please send me any information you have on her not being there, and is it the same person. It's not uncommon to have 2 people with the same names. If in fact she is not buried at Central, I'd be more than happy to delete her memorial or change it to Oakwood.
Thanks
Tim
