|Jan Bos from Nijmegen, Holland||Pvt John Frampus|
Pvt John Frampus was a soldier in the 105th Coast Artillery Battalion, and participated in the invasion of Sicily. D-Day for operation Husky was 10 July 1943, the date of his death.
Pvt Frampus'body was never found and his name is listed on the Wall of Missing of the Sicily Rome Cemetery in Nettuno (Italy).
If his remains would have been recovered, he would have been buried in the temporary GELA cemetery in Sicily.
I am writing a book about the GELA cemetery, where over 1,200 men and women were buried between 1943 and 1947. Hope to finished the book next year July 2013.
One chapter of the book will deal about those whose remains were never accounted for.
Can I have your permission to use the picture you took of the remembrance marker in my book, of course you will be credited and notified when the book is finished.
You are welcome. Hawaii is a wonderful place to photograph graves. The people there take pride in their cemeteries and tend them well.
