Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been tracing family history for myself and other folks since 1999.

Recently, I discovered that several people have used my photos and posted them to without crediting me. I have registered complaints with, and they are in the process of removing the photos.

Really, I don't mind if someone uses my photos AS LONG AS YOU CREDIT YOUR SOURCE, and the source is clearly *me*. Because if you don't credit the source, I will get an alert from that there is new material available, and when I found out that you stole a photo from me, I will not be happy with you.

Let's face it, we're probably all related by blood or marriage, and that's a pretty wide pool. So let's be generous and kind, and do the right thing, people. It's not very much to ask, and you look like a fool if you don't.

Copyright photos
I have thought about your situation with people copying your photos. The only way that you can copyright online is to physically print out the original photo, physically write your name on the front of the picture, re-scan the photo and put it online. I saw your photos on someone else's tree, not of Find A Grave. Once the genie is out of the bottle and something is made public online there is no way to control it. Or, only enter your photos on private trees. I hope this helps. Everyone in the print media is having the same problem with copyrighted material...Good luck.

John Robert b. 7-1742
John Robert is listed with the DAR as a Revolution soldier. Is there anything in the records that you have seen that this is the same John Robert b. Jul 1742 Santee, South Carolina...

As for photos of a tombstones, that is another issue. I will make sure that I don't use anything of yours. I live a thousand miles away and getting to a cemetery is impossible for me to take a photo. I am sorry that you feel the way that you do about sharing.
