I am a volunteer cemetery photographer and cemetery hunter for Ray County, Missouri. I try to find the "lost to history" cemeteries. My family and I also try to leave old abandoned cemeteries better than we found them. From simply putting flowers back on graves (my daughter) to righting fallen stones (my son & my husband), we've even been know to dig covered stones up to right them again. So please feel free to contact me if you need any information on the cemeteries of Ray County, Missouri.
For additional information regarding any of the family members I contributed please see my website at: http://jennzunker.homestead.com/Main.html | |

 | Dilkas Are you related to the Dilkas at the Glendale Cemetery in Yuma Co., Colorado? I see that you have made memorials for several of them. If you are not related, I would like to have administration of the memorials so that I can add information. If you are, I can send you some obituaries. | | | Nancy Deemer
 | Van Bebber Cemetery I left a message yesterday about condition of the cemetery we visited on Sept. 20, 2009 but failed to mention the name. It was Van Bebber cemetery in Knoxville, MO (ray county). It looked like that it hadn't been mowed in at least a year if not two years! The whole cemetery looked like it had been forgotten. It was really very sad. I wonder if someone would able to go there and cut the weeds. There is also lots of poison ivy.

 | McElwee graves My husband and I visited the McElwee graves on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009. The weeds were about four feet high and whole cemetery was covered. My husband had difficulty locating these graves. When he did find them they were hard to read because the inscriptions were covered with moss or were weathered. How can you clean the stone to make it readable? Are all the McElwee graves in the same plot? This is part of my family and I would like to see these graves are better taken care of. ndeemer47@yahoo.com | | | Cemetery Memorial

 | Pisgah Cemetery God bless you for getting around to Pisgah! I am a direct descendant of Christian H. Wyman/Wiman, who owned and donated the land for the church and cemetery. While I've visited there 3 times in the last year, I've not been able to get the photos posted yet! Thank you for getting even the fallen ones! Barbara | | | Elise
 | James Love Fields Jenna, First THANK YOU SO SO MUCH for your work in documenting cemeteries in Ray Co! I have lots of "lost" ancestors, and have no idea where they are buried, though I have my suspicions.
I think I found the death certificate for James Love Fields who's dates are listed as "unknown" (He is buried in Belt Cemetery) His DOB is Sep 20, 1872, and Death Date June 6, 1938. I think his mother may have been related to my ggg grandmother. James' mother is listed on his death certificate as Mary Ann Thomas, also of Ray Co. I believe her father was James (wife America) Thomas, but I am not sure. Either way, here is his death certificate (in case any one else is researching this family) Thanks again! God Bless You!!

 | RE: Eunice Brown - Sgt. Bluff Cemetery Thank you for taking care of the transfer so quickly!
I will, indeed, take good care of Eunice, for she comes from very good stock. She descends from the Southworth family that came to America as part of the original settlers. In addition, Eunice's son, Edward Brown, was one of the founders of Sioux Bee Honey Co. We will try to put something interesting about her background on her memorial page soon.

 | Salena Fisher photo Jenna, Thank you for the photo. I got the message that someone had taken one after the site shut down on Sunday, so I've been waiting impatiently to view it! :)
