Bio Photo Hi there,
I am from Cape Breton Island,Nova Scotia,Canada.I think that adding names & info to this site is a great idea. Its nice to show your respect for those who have passed away,in a Memorial. It could come in handy for family & friends both now & in years to come, tracing their family roots.

If you feel the need to comment on anything that I have added on-line here, please contact me at
mrssparrow at hotmail .com

When I 1st joined 10 years ago. There was No option for other Countries so I had to pick USA cemeteries, now that there is(Oct.2012)I will do my best to fix all the entries I have on here.

Take Care.
God Bless.

St John's Cemetery
Hi Iris,

I was adding relatives to the St John Cemetey on Wallace Road in Glace Bay and your pic of St Joseph's Cemetery in Lingan was added. I think it is the wrong pic. Check out Alexander Vingar,he was interned in St John's and look at the photo.

Regards Doris

Glace Bay Relatives
I could not find your e-mail address. Mine is I have relatives buried in Catholic Cemeteries up there I would love to get pictures or information on them. They are:

Elizabeth (Mansfield) Foley 1867-1957
James Foley 1870-1945
(Both buried in Saint John's Cemetery in Glace Bay)

Elizabeth (Foley)LaBelle 1908-2007
John LaBelle 1913-
(Both buried in Saint Ann's Cemetery in Glace Bay)

Elizabeth & James are my great-grandparents and moved from Newfoundland to Glace Bay, Nova Scotia in 1910 (around). I have been trying to track them for years but the Maritines are just so far away. Any help would be very appreciated!

I currently work in Washington DC and have access to many archives and databases if you need help on anything.

Glace Bay
Hi, I have some relatives, my great-grand parents, buried in Glace Bay. I can't make it up there, I live in Portsmouth NH, and I was wondering if you ever get over to the Saint John's Cemetery. The US part of find a grave has photo volunteers, and well, I guess you know what I am asking. If not, I understand.

Just wanted to let you know that the cemetery listed in her obit and the cemetery she is placed in are different. Maybe a typo error or computer glitch.

And now I understand.....and would like to become a friend on Facebook with you. You have a lot of respect for Charlie, better known as Pretty is so nice to see this. We went to his wake and his sister was quite pleased to see us. My husband got along very well with him during his time at Braemore Home.
