RE: Lena (Sprague) Shoemaker
I don't have any info on Lena Sprague but by following the family links I see she had an aunt and an uncle buried in Macon County, Illinois. Looks like her father died in 1882 so the family may have moved. Lena was born in 1866 so she would have been only 20 when she signed the certificate. Maybe she worked as a clerk and signed in that capacity. Jill

Erick O Sheldahl
Hi, This man is in a tree I am making for a friend, he is his great grandfather. Do you show that all of the children from his forst marriage were born in Illinois, I can't seem to find Erick O Sheldahl in any census yet where he was born in Illinois. Thank you, you seem to have a lot of knowledge on this family. Sandy

I have updated the Sheldahl Lutheran Cem. site with memorials for all the graves and additional sign photos. I have sent emails to those using the Shedahl Cem. Story Co. listing in hopes of clearing up confusion.

Sheldahl cemeteries
Ms Sheldahl,

Thanks for getting back to me. Do you want to contact that David Mather who has Lena Fisher, and tell him she is at Lutheran in Story Co. I have a relative who is Mamie Peterson, but I know she is in the Sheldahl Polk cemetery. The news article says internment Sheldahl cemetery. I would guess she was my relative, but the names and places are close but don't match.

mixed Sheldahl Cemeteries

I was looking at the Sheldahl Cemeteries and noticed you had several at the Lutheran Cemetery that doesn't come up on the map. There are 2 other Sheldahl cemeteries listed both have maps one is in Story Co, the other in Polk. Both have gate pics, and the one in Story Co if you look at the name it says "Sheldahl Lutheran". It also says it's in Slater, which it is really not. There are only 2 graves there, and one I think may be a relative of mine who is really in the Polk co cemetery.
