Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a 39 year old mother of 4 (3 living). I am dedicated to all of us remembering our loved ones. I hope someone finds information they are looking for through me, and I hope that someone out there finds peace from what I have done. I know there are many mistakes in the data I have put into the computer, especially about Pere Cheney, as the research is ongoing about Pere Cheney. If anyone has any corrections, please feel free to contact me, and I will make the corrections. God bless you all.

Can you tell me the story again about the little boy with the headstone that has the Asian writing on it. I have taken a photo of the headstone and will be loading it. His name was Jimmie Takaci.

RE: Cardwell Grave pictures
Finding the grave was not a problem. I bought a book at the library several years ago that has a map of the cemetery and the location of every grave. I was raised in Alpena and lived there until 1972 when my husband joined the Air Force. My mother and sister are still there so if you need something else I will enlist their help, just let me know.

Let me know what the mission is and I will see what I can do. I actually live in Texas but was visiting Alpena last week. I'm always up for a challenge.

In case you didn't see this article:

Shots fired Saturday night at Crawford County cemetery
Monday, October 19, 2009 10:19 AM EDT

CRAWFORD COUNTY -- Deputies from the Crawford County Sheriff's Dept. responded Saturday to a report of a confrontation at the Pere Cheney Cemetery in Beaver Creek Township which allegedly led to several rounds fired from a shotgun.

According to a Saturday news release from Crawford County Sheriff Kirk Wakefield at approximately 10:15 p.m. a group of teenagers had gathered at the cemetery and were allegedly confronted by a white male, possibly in his 50s with gray hair and a full gray beard.

Wakefield said the subject was around 6-feet tall, with a hefty build and brandishing a shotgun. The man reportedly threatened the gathered teens and told them to leave the area.

During the confrontation Wakefield said several shots were fired by the subject although there were no reported injuries during the exchange. Damage was reported to one of the teen's vehicles as they fled the area.

The suspect's vehicle was described as an older full-sized pickup outfitted with a lift kit and possibly dark blue or black in color.

That explains a lot
With the entire north woods to party in, they pick on the Pere Cheney cemetery? Just incredible. That explains all the broken headstones.

Thanks for the offer - my husband has most of the folks out West - but we were slow in looking up who might be on your way. Appreciate it tho!
