Bio and Links
Bio Photo When I was about 8 yrs. old, my grandmother showed me the rifle, or musket, my gg-grandfather carried home from the Civil War. She told how he nearly starved, after he was captured, and sent to Libby Prison, near the end of the war. All they had to eat and drink was chicken feed and dirty water. This would probably be dried corn, and most of the water, at the prisons, was contaminated, as they were overcrowded at the war's end. Food was scarce, especially in the south.

She also said, his wife was an Indian that practiced medicine, and she disappeared one day. When Indians were discusted with a marriage, they just walked away.
My cousins heard the same story, and it was more than enough to get all our attention, and interest in our family history.
We did find out all about our gg-grandfather, Albert Clark, but not much about his wife, Julia Goff, except she was buried in Meriden, Ct., and their fourth child died a few months later, while Albert Clark was away at war.

Julia's mother is listed in the Meriden Ct. directory, her occupation is listed as Vapor Baths.

Link onto Talcott Goff's page for new information, to do with our Indian heritage?

I wanted our site to show anyone interested in genealogy, how we went about doing our family history. Also, a chance to thank the many volunteers that helped us in our search, especially Jan Franco of the Meriden, Ct. Public Library.
I have 2 Clark lines, Cathys goes back to Lemuel Clark, who died in Wethersfield, Ct. 1810.
I want to dedicate our Clark and Manville sites and related lines, to my cousin Cathy Carter. We started out together, but unfortunately, Cathy came down with macular eye disease a few years ago.
She was my teacher and followed me every step of the way, until her sudden passing on Oct. 11, 2003.
My other early lines are from my g-grandmother, Emma Hammond Whiting's family records.

Alden, Bass, Weeks, Hammond, Rindge, Maudsley - Moseley, Quarles, Clark, Roper

A special thanks to all the volunteers who have scanned gravestones on the sites!

B.K.
Perhaps I should of left a note of B.K.'s passing December 13, 2013. Her name was Barbara Kimball and she is surely missed by me and I'm sure all those that she helped for many years.

wrong cemetery & town
We notice you have a findagrave memorial 115569387 for Benjamin Tucker in our Pine Grove Cemetery in Boylston. In an ongoing audit of Pine Grove burials we can confirm that he was not buried in Pine Grove but in Shrewsbury (see memorial 144734784) in Section 6, Lot 89A

Could you perhaps update the cemetery and place in 115569387 or if you like, we will transfer 144734784? to you as a replacement.

Many thanks for helping to preserve both towns histories!!

Bruce

Ann Kenrick Hammond #8642892
Hi BK,
I am working on my family tree and Ann's husband Isaac Hammond is my first cousin 9x removed. The reason I am contacting you is that there is another find a grave memorial for this person. The find a grave memorial# on this one is 65787753. It was put on find a grave by Jeff Zinsli on feb 17, 2011. Obviously only one can be correct. I will contact him also and make him aware of the problem. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do.
Thanks,
Cindi Cooke

RE: Timothy Clark(e)
Barbara,
When I first saw the memorial, it had that you created it and Kevin Avery managed it. The information on the memorial was sketchy and I saved the emails that we corresponded. If you send me your email address, then I will copy you on it.

Timothy Clark(e) is also my dad's ggggf
Harriet Clark- Samuel Edward Clark- Asaph Clark to Samuel Clark his son.

Timothy Clark(e)
Barbara,
On Feb 21, 2013 Kevin Avery transferred Timothy Clark(e)'s memorial to me. Is there something wrong with the memorial?

RE: St. Rochs Cem. Oxford, Ma.
I scoured the area near the Cormiers and could not find Paul Perry, although there is a Julia Perry and the stone nearest her is damaged. That may be Paul as it is behind the Cormiers and next to Julia. All that is left of the stone is the base.
