Most of my family's ancestors settled in West Virginia in the early 1800s, coming from the western counties of Virginia(Augusta, Culpeper, Rappahannock, Bath, Highland). My father's people mostly ended up in Kanawha County, some in Fayette County. My mother's clan came to the state from North Carolina and settled in Boone and Lincoln counties.
