John Clapp, # 6290802
Hello,

I am descended from John's 3rd wife, Charity (England) Hyde Dillon Clapp. I have just discovered that she married a Clapp and found your memorial page for John, which lists her as his third wife. Do you have any records about their marriage? I would very much appreciate copies of anything you have!

Also, Charity's memorial, I believe, is # 49069561.

Jeremiah Burnett III
Jeremiah Burnett, III
Birth: 1749
Death: Jun. 28, 1848

The Daughters (or Sons) of the American Revolutionary War sadly inscribed the wrong birth year on the plaque for this Jeremiah Burnett. I spent years and thousands of dollars to find the correct records. There is not space here to give all of the records.

He was born 1761 in Albemarle Co, VA and died at age 87 on June 23, 1848 at the home of his daughter Rhoda Effaniah Burnett Harris.

Jeremiah's wife Effaniah Crowley Burnett died sometime before the 1830 census of Parick Co, VA, and Jeremiah married 2/ 4 Jun 1835 in Patrick Co to Jane Turner. The Turner Bible record lists her as "Ganay Jane Turner" born 22 Mar 1805, the daughter of Adam Turner and Mary Pilson, leading citizens of Patrick County. Jane had no children. Jeremiah sold his last parcel of land of 400 acres on Poplar Camp Creek. This is when Rhoda and her son traveled to Patrick County and picked up her father to live with her.

Effaniah Crowley was daughter of Samuel Crowley and Elizabeth Strong.

The children of Jermieh Burnett III and
Effaniah Crowley:
1. John Burnett
2. Jeremiah Burnett IV
3. Samuel Burnett
4. Isham Burnett
5. Elizabeth Burnett
6. Rhoda Burnett
7. Judah Burnett
8. Nancy Burnett

Birthdate
How should we account for the father born in 1740 and his son in 1749.

I'm looking for Revolutionary War Patriot Jeremiah Burnett born
about 1746 and died in Patrick Co, VA after 12 Nov 1793. Fay Bishop (Jeremiah Burnett descendant). His son Obadiah Burnett married Ruth Mayo, all of VA. Any ideas?

Anna Corder
I was doing a picture request for her father, Nathan, and saw that the whole family was together and took all the photos. If you would like to link Anna to her family members, her mother's # is 76905586, brother Nathan # 76905612, and father Nathan # 69355286.
