I was home visiting last summer(it's a different county, but close enough), and tried to find Sarah's grave. I kept meaning to let you know about this at the time, but I've been really busy, so I apologize for not informing you sooner.
There is only a trace that there(probably) was a stone there at one time. I'm pretty certain that Sarah was buried next to her husband, and across from her husband's parents. The way that it was set up was facing each other. His parents are buried side by side with their headstones facing one way, and across from them would be Sarah and her husband, with their stones facing the the parents stones. If you were to stand behind one set of stones, you couldn't see the inscription, but you could see the one across from it. Does that make sense?
Anyways, there is no headstone for Sarah, but I did snap some pictures of the site. I didn't put it on Sarah's memorial because I was unsure if you'd be interested, and I didn't mark it as a problem, because I didn't really see it as such. If you would like me to attach what I have to her memorial, let me know, and I'll do it. Thanks for you time. :)
George W Hadley I was curious to know whether or not you had any other info on your George W Hadley. I am trying to locate mine's place of burial. All I know is he was born abt. 1853 to George Hadley and Jane or June Johnson. I hope you will be able to assist me. Thankyou T'Anna
William Buchanan (1771-1845) I would like to note that this William Buchanan is not buried in the Buchanan family cemetery (originally the family cemetery of his brother William Buchanan)in Brown Township, Ripley County.
He was buried in a private plot a few hundred feet to the west. Sometime between 1972 and 1985 (probably in 1984 after the Ripley County Historical Society resurveyed Brown Township cemeteries) his stone and that of a grandaughter were moved to the Buchanan family Cemetery. The stones from the nearby McLaughlin Cemetery were moved at the same time
Balch headstones Thank you for the Balch pictures! I really appreciate your efforts. I would like to ask your permission to use these photos on my Ancestry site. I will, of course, give you full credit for contributing the pics. Thank you in advance! Kathy Thomas
