Bio Photo Vernon Charles Hales, b. 28/March/1936 at Kansas City MO,. Northeast High School, 1954; Central Missouri State College (now Univ. of Central Missouri), 1960. Retired Avionics tech. for Trans World Airlines presently living in Merriam, KS. Wife (second, 1995) Mary Jean Rose, b. 11/23/1948 at Kansas City KS. Son of Erskine Lee Hales, steelworker, 31/Aug/1912--29/June/1969, (buried Mt Washington Cem., Jackson Co. MO), and Grace Charles, 11/Sep/1908-1/Oct/2011.
One daughter, (by Ilene Lucille Dessert), Robin Renee Hales Johnson, born 21/Oct/1964 at Kansas City, MO, presently living in San Francisco.
I generally put on FaG only graves that Mary or I know something about, but there are exceptions, such as Lily Grove Cem. (Livingston County MO). If anyone wants maintenance of any of my graves let me know. If at that time I have a grave of my own, hopefully my widow can change ownership of a grave, but you may have to help her with the process.

RE: Findagrave--Louis Shoulders
Thank you Sir. I won't change anything in your bio on Lou Shoulders except the one line whereas you stated that a thug went to jail. What really happened was that the chauffer/police driver for lt. Shoulders that night was a police officer by the name of Elmer Dolan. He subsequently went to prison for perjury. Out of respect to the son of Elmer Dolan (whom is a former Saint Louis Police Officer) I didn't write any bad pertaining to his father going to prison for perjury. Elmer Dolan eventually got a full pardon for his crime of perjury. I can't remember if it was from a sitting president at the time or the governor of the state of Missouri. This pardon took place after the death of Officer Dolan. I have Officer Dolan on my Find A Grave list of Saint Louis Police Officers.

God Bless and happy belated holidays to you.

Tim

I have gotten half way thru the cemetery registering markers I have found in a systematic order one section and row at a time I am pass 2200 names now and sill havn,t gave up on Otis yet . ihope by late winter of this year I have the whole cemetery listed ,since no one has taken too great care for this cemetery for some time .The entrance from the neighborhood all the way left and up the hill is covered up to the big center field . to the right of entrance all way pass the original entrance way that was closed when they built hwy 459to the curve of the property . the first center field is covered and part of the main center field where the state stands is covered . but so far Otis has not been located . volunteer Russell Roubdioux inBessemer Alabama .

re: Wm Spies
I have the transferred his memorial to you as requested. Hopefully, when his wife is doing better, she will be able to work with you to add a bio and maybe some photos. I took a look at some of your other memorials and they are quite charming, especially the ones with photos. Thanks for letting me know you could get family involved on this one. It's always better when family and/or friends manage the memorial of a loved one.

RE: Tim Charles, Prairie Home Cem
Yes I am the one you met in Belleville, wish we would have had a little more time to visit, I am still working but have Achilles Tendonitis really bad in my right foot and am starting to have problems with the left one, am looking at going on SSI, as soon as I get my Vacation time & personal day used up, then will be spending more time getting my Family Files straightened up and shred some of the duplicate stuff. I have been doing research since 1968, when my Great Grandma Zilpha M. Shockley, Charles, Shinabarger, and my Grandparents Lawrence & Mary (Freece) Charles were still alive, they all passed away within a few years after that.
All for now...Dianna

Hi Vernon,
I didn't go far enough to find out how to change cemeteries. In the memorial where you have the burial info, click on (edit) and when the Burial Information block comes up, click continue....then you can type in the cemetery name or do a search and 'dot' which one you want and click 'save changes.'
Clear as mud?
If so, please let me know and I'll try again. If you want, you could transfer management to me and I'll make the changes and transfer it back to you.
