I was born and raised in Oklahoma and now have returned there in retirement. I have a B.S. in Business and a M.S. in Industrial Engineering. I spent a lifetime in Federal service, first in the Air Force as a commissioned officer, retiring as a Colonel, as subsequently as a member of the Senior Executive Corps at the Pentagon. I have been actively involved in genealogy since childhood, and have continued that interest to the present time. I am a descendent of a Mayflower Pilgrim. I continue to work tenaciously on my own lines, always searching for some piece of information that I might not have, plus as a matter of courtesy, I have traced lines for hundreds of friends and acquaintenances. I am a strong advocate of the pursuit of family history for all people. We are the product of our ancestors, and therefore, I believe that it is important that we each preserve and share the unique story of our family. We can only fully understand who we are if we also understand from whom and from where we came.
Use the "Suggest a Correction" feature on the appropriate memorial to submit information or any requests. I follow the Find-A-Grave guidelines regarding the transfer of memorials. Any transfer requests should only be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. If you send me a request for transfer of a memorial, please explain exactly how you are related.

 | RE: Manery ok...I guess you are talking about William Foster Manery who had Sarah who married George W Casey...I too have a copy of the picture of Sarah Manery Casey which I got from family in Missouri,,,which was a tin type...it was in the book that I wrote which included the Manery families and the Casey's....And I was saying that William Foster Manery's birth date was incorrect.,,, Please do get in touch when you get back...Maybe you have some other pictures to share???? | | | sandy cole
 | Manery The pictures of William Foster Manery and Sarah Manery Casey as well as the information about them were published in 2004 in the book written by Sandy Wainwright, "Return to Cantrell Creek." She spent years traveling the area, doing the research and finding and taking pictures. She keeps finding pictures and information from her books on various internet sites without acknowledgement of her work. This is infuriating, especially when someone else claims that recognition, particularly with a claim of copyright. "Return to Cantrell Creek" was her second book on the family, her first being, "The Road to Cantrell Creek." Jean McMahon | | | sandy cole
 | Book Hi, this picture if from the book "Return to Cantrell Creek, by Sandy (Cole) Wainwright.....I would like to see this book you are talking about, as This Picture is from that book as well as the Manery's.... | | | sandy cole

 | DeSpain Nancy, I hope you don't mind, but I transferred Benjamin, also, since you have a connection and I don't. My wife has D'Spain in her family so we take photos of any DeSpains or D'Spains we happen upon. That's how we came to post these. David | | | Robert Johnson
 | Ethel Detlefs Nancy, I transferred the memorial of Ethel Detlefs to you. Please let me know if I can do anything else. R. JOHNSON | | | farmroad114

 | RE: Mary Jane Lee Stowe Moody Would it be all right with you if I posted your picture to my tree on Ancestry? If anything, I would like to copy it to my records and have a copy printed for my husband and his children including our son, Martin Moody Jr. I would like to include a copy of the picture in their scrapbooks. As far as William Robert Moody, there is very little I can tell you at this point, he's one of my challenging people I am searching information for. I believe his parents were Baron D Moody and Sarah Jane Ireland but I am not absolutely sure of this!! I have found a William Moody living with his mother, Sarah Moody and I have found a marriage license for Sarah Jane Ireland and Baron D Moody all in Barry County, Missouri. If you would like copies of these documents, send me your email address and I can attach them to an email. William Robert Moody b Sep 1849 in Barry Co, Missouri, he married Mary J McKamey (several different spellings!) on 9 Feb 1879 in Logan Co, Arkansas. They had 4 children: James Alexander Moody b 25 Dec 1879, William Henry Moody b Mar 1883, George Moody b Feb 1889, and my husband's grandfather, Leroy Sylanster Moody b 15 Jul 1891. I agree he was still alive in 1900 and had passed away before the census on 19 May 1910 unless his wife did something like my great grandmother did on a census and reported that she was a widow! lol Remember, divorce was an embarassment at that time! Being a widow was very much accepted instead. I'm still looking to see if I can find his burial location. I'm pretty surprised he isn't buried in the same cemetery as Mary Jane Lee Stowe Moody although since his first wife had already passed away, she died in Arkansas so I don't think anyone would have had his body shipped to be buried next to her although it could have happened. I am in the process of trying to find her grave also although I don't have a death date for her either! I hope this is helpful to you. If you would like, you are more than welcome to take a look at my tree on Ancestry if you would like. Edwina Moody | | | Edwina Moody
 | Mary Jane Lee Stowe Moody My husband is a descendant of William Robert Moody and his first wife. He's the second husband to Mary Jane Lee Stowe Moody (48921120). I was wondering along with another descendant who has seen your page for her, who the man is with Mary Jane? Could it possibly be William Robert Moody since it doesn't look at all like her first husband, Samuel Neel Stowe? I was wondering if there is any further information on the back of the picture that would help identify who he is? Edwina | | | | [View all messages...] |
