I became interested in genealogical research in 1994 and have not looked back since. I have been a member of the Genealogical and Historical Society of Caldwell County [located in Luling, Texas] for seven years now, both as a volunteer and member of the executive board. I live in Webberville, a small rural community 17 miles east of Austin, Texas and a one hour drive to Luling. Why do I volunteer so far away? They had nothing on my ancestor Rufus Pierce Dunnahoo in their files!I came, I saw, I stayed. It is a first-rate genealogical research library manned by a small handful of loyal volunteers. [Over-worked, under-paid and just too dedicated to quit!] We are housed in the Luling Public Library. Come see us or visit our web site:
I am researching: Donahoe/Dunnahoo; Matthews; Labenski; Krabe; Kanetzky; Cullen; Gatlin; Hanks; Covey; Kelsey; Danner; Harris; Atkinson; Applewhite; Lamb; Brownd; Gann; Jordan; Zimpleman; Turley; Womble; Cowan; Stillwell. These names resided in Virginia, Georgia, Mississippi, Texas and New Mexico.
