Just a friend!|
Please understand that I have no control over the names, words and dates engraved on stones, written on death certificates or provided in obituaries. I didn't write them. I'm only providing those previously written words to you.
I have been a contributor on this site for over 13 years, so yes it stands to reason that I have a fair number of memorials that I have entered, added to and lovingly care take even though they may not be a branch of my own family. It's quite possible that if I had not entered the memorial to begin with, you may not have been able to find them.
Individuals using this site need to realize that we are all volunteers and do not need to deal with abusive behavior or rudeness just because we won't make a transfer to someone who has registered two days or two months ago and want every memorial on the site with the surname of Jones. Or a transfer of a memorial of someone who they think just might be a fifth cousin, four times removed of their third ex-husband.
If you are new to this site, PLEASE read the "Frequently Asked Questions" located "HERE". If you take just a moment to familiarize yourself with these guidelines, it will definitely help yours and everyone else's state of mind, blood pressure and headaches.
If you will please use the "Edit" tab located on each memorial, I will be more than happy to correct, edit or add information to a memorial that is meaningful. I will not add all of the information from the past ten census records that have been released or any distasteful or disturbing messages.
Please be kind. We all make mistakes from time to time. If I have made a mistake or created a duplicate memorial later than one you have created, please use the "Edit" tab and send me the correction or let me know of the duplication and it will be taken care of quickly.
I will make transfers using the "Guidelines" if they are not a relative of mine. I will transfer your children, siblings, parents, grandparents or great-grandparents. All other requested transfers will be considered if you use the "Edit" feature and state your relationship or intended need for the memorial.
Lastly and most importantly, there are so many absolutely wonderful people that use Find-A-Grave! I am very appreciative for all of the suggested corrections, additional information and photos that have been provided. Please don't allow the rude, abusive and sometimes rather bizarre behavior of individuals to curb your enthusiasm or your want to help others.

Thank you for catching that. I usually post photos in the wee hours of the morning and sometimes that is what happens. I fixed.

Okay, so I know this might be a long shot, but I saw where you were mentioned on Duke and Kathy Moore's profile, and I was wondering if you knew any way to get in touch with them regarding some information with all of the Friday memorials they've added. I would really like to ask a few questions about the memorials, and gather some information if possible.

Thanks so much, and yes I have her information just not where they buried her is all. Thought since you were the one to create the memorials you might have seen her with her second husband, she died after him. She might be very well either in Shreveport LA or maybe even in Panola Co. TX beside one of her boys with H.S. Hicks who I can't find either.
Thanks again for you kind help,

Find A Grave Memorial# 68524641 With regard to this memorial number, I would greatly appreciate it if you could tell me if his mother Martha Jane Hill-Hicks-Fortson is with them in this cemetery. I have not been able to find her at all. Not with her first husband, Hijah Hicks who is buried in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, LA and not with her son Robert Hicks also of Shreveport, LA and not with her oldest son Charles Monroe Hicks who is buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery, De Berry, Panola Co. TX. I am at a brick wall. So I thought by maybe asking you if you have come across these graves if you happen to remember if they might have her there with Rev. Elijah Fortson and her son David is all. I would be grateful for any information of course,
Thanks so much for your time.
The cemetery is Grand Canes Cemetery, Grand Canes, De Soto Parish, LA.

My wife and I thank you for taking care of F-a-G Memorial # 126241594 for CW3 "Don" James. Please continue your fine service for many others, and again; many thanks for this memorial! Don and I served together in Viet Nam and later at Ft. Sill, OK. We have been close friends since then and were deeply saddened by his early passing. We miss him daily! We pray that his honorable example to others lives on.
Howard (COL, USA, ret.) and Linda Helser
The transfer for Mary & Etta Deskin are greatly appreciated.
