Bio Photo Best wishes for health, spiritual growth, happiness, and new adventures in 2015!
A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all the other virtues.

Biggest Joys about Findagrave:
--Traveling to cemeteries and photographing grave markers;
--Personal satisfaction when my entries are researched, entered correctly, and nicely presented;
--Discovering burial and genealogy info on my own extended family;
--Helping others in their research; and
--Connecting with other Findagravers.

Biggest Headaches
Lack of self checking of own work by many contributors including:
--duplicates of their own entries,
--duplicates of others' entries,
--last names for babies, unmarried girls, spinsters, & men erroneously entered in Maiden Name field,
--multiple marriage names listed in Last Name field instead of the legal name at time of death,
--common spelling errors in name field,
--mixed case or lower case used in name fields, and
--mid-data entry submissions with only partial data.

Findagrave's Biggest Area for Improvement
We need a "Dupe Checker" utility so we can fix our own errors. Once we get over a few thousand entries, it is very time consuming to page through our own entries looking for dupes. As the database is growing by a million every few weeks, this issue is becoming critical.

The Dupe Checker would have a utility on Contributor Tools so we can double-check our own entries for self-entered duplicates and check our entries against others in the Findagrave database.
--A popup alerting us we've created a dupe or warning us a prior entry already exists would be helpful.
--Each Cemetery Home Page should also have a Dupe Checker to identify duplicates so they can be addressed. (Spreadsheet entry process will now screen out dupes assuming names/dates are the same.)

A Findagrave Improvement Want-to-Have
--The Pulldown menu on the Find-a-County utility needs to list the dominant U.S. cities in every state at the top of the list (i.e. New York, Los Angeles, Denver, Houston, etc.). Most of the population in each state lives in the major cities - hence most deaths occur there too so help us eliminate needless scrolling.

Thanks to all out there who:
--are helpful, enthusiastic, and courteous to other volunteers,
--send me corrections, obits, links, and other information to add to my entries,
--check their own work,
--keep up with edits, corrections, and suggestions from other contributors, and
--provide newspaper or website citations for obits so others can use this info.

PS...I typically respond within 24 hrs to edit requests and do put a lot of time into each one of my entries. If you request a transfer, please explain your relationship. I'll transfer to remote family members as long as I'm not a relative as well, but what are you planning on doing with the entry that I haven't already done?

Evergreen Cemetery To Be Improved
DAN HANLEY APPOINTED SEXTON OF LOCAL BURYING GROUND

Dan Hanley has been appointed sexton of the cemetery, and will commence upon his duties this morning. The appointment was made by the cemetery committee. Mr. McCleod has had charge heretofore.
Many improvements are under way and contemplated that when finished will make Evergreen Cemetery a credit to this prosperous community, who feel that no neglect should be permitted there.
For the past several weeks a force has been employed in planting trees and beautifying the burial ground. Mr. Hanley says it is the intention to plant at least three hundred China umbrella trees as soon as they can be obtained.
Already the Elks have set out a large number of trees in their plot, and the Eagles have treated their portion of the grounds in a like manner.
Among the other improvements it is proposed, as soon as funds can be obtainedMarch 4, 190, to place a new fence around the entire graveyard, and when this is done other changes will be made.
The efforts of the cemetery committee, together with those of Mr. Hanley, should meet with the approval of all citizens in Bisbee. The care of the last resting place should be a labor of love and one that should be the privilege of all.

EVERGREEN CEMETERY MAY BE MADE LARGER
Committee of Council Finds It Inadequate for Allotment to Lodges.
The cemetery committee of the city council and representatives of the lodges of the city met at Evergreen cemetery yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock for the purpose of allotting plots in the cemetery to the lodges for burial of their dead. The matter was gone into thoroughly by the committee, but it developed that there was not enough available ground in the limits of the present cemetery to allot plots as large as the lodges desired, and action was postponed.
The committee will try to get additional ground so that all the lodges will be cared for to an extent that will meet all future needs. The committee realized that while plots sufficient for a year or two might be available now, they might be wholly inadequate four or five years hence.

Item of Interest?
BDR Jan. 19, 1904

Takes Charge of Cemetery. Dan Henley takes charge of the cemetery this morning. About one of the first things he intends to do is plant about one hundred trees, which will be a great addition to the plot of burying ground.

congrats!
Congrats Cori for being here 11 years! It was nice to work with a pleasant uncranky person like you! I have read some contributor bios lately and am happy I do not have to communicate with them. This should be a HAPPY PLACE! Keep up the good work. Thanks,
Rosalie from Wenatchee, WA

Thank you
I want to thank you for your work. Without your contribution I would have never found my Grandfathers grave site. He had died in Carson City, Nevada and I couldn't find it there after he died.
But it was only logical that he would be buried in Mammoth, AZ after living there for so many years of his life. I have sent u a request to update the information that you had posted originally. Also, I added the only photo I had of him from years ago. My family thanks you. And I am encouraged by your work to do the same in return for others that may be looking for loved one.
Thanks again and may God Bless You !!!

Thanks!
Corolla, thank you for your tedious work with the Crown Hill memorials! It is much appreciated by many, and there's darned near no recognition of all of the work that you're doing. Just want to say thanks!
