Hammond Family
Hi, Janet. Did you receive my email from several weeks ago regarding my great-grandmother, Mary Ann Murdock Hammond and the Hammond family? I've never received a reply and wanted to make sure you got it. Thanks.

Janet: From my research, my husband and you have a connection Wilkinson and Wiggins. I have researched the Wilkinson Family and (with others help) come up with four siblings: Asa Wilkinson, Martha Wilkinson, Greenberry Wilkinson, and J Samuel Wilkinson, Sr. I published a book documenting as much as I could on these 4 siblings. I would love to add your family info to mine. Please email me at Thank you for our help and what you do to keep this site free.

Hi Janet,
I'm thinking Cora Lee and Gussie were distant realitives of mine also. Could you please tell me the name of their husbands? My Grandma was Nina Jo Gulledge. Her Parents were Harrison Jack and Maggie Gulledge.

RE: Greg McFarlin Memorial
Thank you very much! I corrected the link and chastised myself for not noticing the difference in dates. Thanks again.

RE: John Bowen
Janet, I was unaware that you were acquainted with John and his Dad. When I had seen what you did with his father Richard (my brother) I immediately called John's mother and told her and made sure I did something for John. She came to Jacksonville recently and we were looking at this website, she was very pleased, but she did not recognize your name. Perhaps she would like to personally thank you, but I will for both of us. Take care, God Bless. Ethel Bjork

James Richard Bowen, Sr.
Thank you for adding my brother to the Evergreen Cemetery listing and the excellent photo. I was so excited when I found it and called my sister-in-law so she could check it out also. You have made our day. I would ask if there is a way to link him to our parents who are also in Evergreen. Oliver Mann Bowen, Sr. Mem.# 86664721 and Henrietta Viola Osteen Bowen Mem#86665287. I have added a link for one of his sons who is buried by our parents, but it will not allow me to link Richard's parents, or I just don't know how to do it. Thank you very much. Ethel Bjork

Micajah Henry Bland ~ Hollywood Cemetery
Greetings. I claimed your photo request for Micajah Henry Bland at Hollywood Cemetery. I'm sorry to report, there is no gravestone with his name or anything similar. And this is not unusual, to find nothing, because the gravestones we DO find account for only about 1 out of every 150 burials; There are no original markers here, the original wartime burials were marked hastily by wooden boards that are long gone, and the only markers here today are VA markers placed by descendents at later dates.) In the case of your soldier, no marker has been placed. You can always contact the Hollywood Cemetery office for info on how to have a marker placed. I'll post a photo of the hallowed ground where he's buried, for you to see. Rich.

RE: Lucien J. Laurin @ Bay Pines National Cemetery
Hi, Janet.
You can't remove it directly from his memorial page, but if you click on the flower itself it should then take you to a separate screen for that particular flower and there should be a link at top that says "Delete this offering."
Hope this helps.

Lucien J. Laurin @ Bay Pines National Cemetery
Hi, Janet.

On December 22nd you left a flower/token and note on the memorial for Lucien J. Laurin, buried at Bay Pines National Cemetery, in which you stated, "This is the legendary Lucien Laurin, trainer of Secretariat and Riva Ridge." (You may have also been the requester for his headstone photo which I fulfilled, but I no longer have the request to verify who requested it).

Anyway, I'm wondering if you're sure this is the same Lucien Laurin? According to Wikipedia, the Lucien Laurin who was the trainer of Secretariat and Riva Ridge was born 18 Mar 1912 and died 26 Jun 2000, whereas this memorial is for a Lucien Laurin who was born 28 Jul 1923 and died 23 Nov 1987.

If you've made a mistake, you may want to remove your flower/token so as not to confuse future visitors to the memorial. If you still feel this is the same Lucien Laurin, I would be interested in any further information you might have and how it refutes the information given on Wikipedia.
