Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am very interested in genealogy and most of what I find are in cemeteries. I plan on logging more as soon as time allows me. I like history and hearing the old time stories that has kept our families memories alive for ages. May we never stop the stories and keep the family going.
I have info on one leg of my family to 1750 Sara Banton and Jerimiah Ward were married in 1750 in England. Their son John Ward came to America about 1769. When I was in the cemetery logging it made passer bys curious and a few stopped and asked as to what I was doing. They always smiled when I told them. This site helps in reasearch of our family that have passed on and I hope a lot more is added. I was born 1952 at Grand Saline, Texas. I have already lost Mom and Dad and Grandparents but hope to leave something behind for the ones who follow. My families are, Ward, Warden, Ross, Rose, Newsom and a lot more.

RE: Mclemore
..another note, too - if you actually look at the 1870 Census (data pasted in last note) - the "Jos H. Byram" they listed (or typed in the website) - it appears pretty-clear to me that it is actually "Jas. A. Byram" - not Jos. (which I believe would stand for Joseph). Jas. would stand for James...

RE: Mclemore
Hi, again, Carroll!! (Love the spelling of your name - so COOL!) :)

I've seen her name several different ways. My understanding is that her name was either Susan or Susanne...but, I have seen Jim Ann, as well....and, that makes sense to me, because her Father's name was James A. Byram (some say Byrum - some say Barnes), and her Mother's name was also "interchangeable", it seems. I've seen her listed as Susan Ann, Sueann, and Mary Ann. Early census that I've found with her in it lists her as Mary Ann or Mary A., so this is what I've tended to go-with; and, if you combine James nickname, Jim, and Mary Ann's middle name - you come up with Jim Ann.

In the 1860 - Prec 1, Rains, Texas census, Robert's mother was listed as "J. A. Byrum", and her mother listed as "M. A. Baldwin"; 1880 - Prec 1, Rains, Texas census, she is listed as "J. A. Byrum"- JP 2, Rains, Texas census, she is also listed as "J. A. Mclimore"; 1910 - Prec 5, Rains, Texas census - she's listed as "Anna Mclemore"; and, 1920 - Rains, Texas census, she is listed as "Annie Mclemore".

Here is census data for Jim Ann's mother, Mary Ann) as I have:

=================================
All of these contradict her death certificate, where she is listed as "Susie Ann McLemore".

In my family tree, I have them listed as Mary Ann Sweeden Byram Baldwin for Robert's Mother's Mother, as that's what most of the data says; and, Jim Ann Byram Reid McLemore as Robert's Mother, as this is what I found her listed as most (besides Ann, Anna, or Annie - her middle name).

Mary Ann Sweeden Byram Baldwin was sister to my great-great grandfather, Leroy Sweeden. Leroy was Father to my great-grandmother, Nancy P. C. (Nan) Sweeden Thornhill. Nan was mother to my grandmother, Nevada Lee (Nevie) Thornhill Newman Pharr. Nevie was Mother of my Mother, Edna Lucille Newman Newman Brumett. :)

I hope this is making some sense...it's hard to explain in text. I can send the census copies, if you like. Sorry to ramble, so much...but, that's why I put it the way I did. :) :) :)

Let me know if I can help! I'll be happy to in any way that I can! ALWAYS nice to meet FAMILY! :)

Thanks & A Question
I cannot begin to describe how excited I was today when I found a new "hint" on Ancestry.com that led me to your Memorial #5017342
for Oscar E. Davis 1891 - 1953.
I am not positive this memorial is my paternal grandfather Oscar F (Flinton) Davis but the chances are so good that I'm very happy.
We didn't have any contact with this side of my family (through no fault of theirs!) so I am very literal about matching up info on him...This memorial says the name is Oscar E Davis (instead of the middle initial F) BUT all the rest, like the dates & the basic locale of where he was to be buried as stated on his Death Certificate seems right.

I may request a photo via the Find A Grave volunteers to double check the middle initial...please don't be offended if I do! ok? I just know so little else about his life that I am being extra careful to be sure I have the right fellow.

Thank you for every single minute of your time you put aside to do this work for all of us you don't even know! Finding my Grandfather is worth it's weight in gold to me & I cannot thank you enough for your good work.

I don't think this is Clementine. Clementine would have been Pearl's sister-in-law but not her sister. I don't have any pictures of Clementine though, so I would love for it to be her! :)
