Thank you so much. This confirms that she, my great, great grandmother, is buried here. I couldn't find her and her husband anywhere, until now. Again, Thank You So Much. Sincerely Crystle Pressler

RE: Alonzo Buell
Thanks so much for doing this. It looks great. I had a record from ancestry.com that shows he received an official Civil War stone and now we can see it!

Do you by any chance know if there are records that show when the newer stone for Alonzo and his wife was installed?

Alonzo Buell
Hi Ralph,

I've found a record saying that Alonzo Buell received an official Civil War headstone that presumably gave his service regiment. The stone on findagrave.com seems relatively new. Is the old one still there as well? If so, is it possible to get a photo of it?

Thanks so much for your help,
Susan Gillette

RE: Permissions
Ralph,

Thanks for your permissions.

I would love to get a copy of your family tree for the Hardin's. I do a lot of research on my family history. I haven't done as much on the Hardin's but would love to see what you have. After that I can give you anything I might have that isn't on your tree.

I don't live near Cincinatti. I can spell it, though.

Do you have your family tree anywhere online? I use ancestry.com a lot. My trees are on ancestry.

I have a partial tree on family search. I keep saying I've got to put my whole tree on family search but I can't bear to put it on there until my tree is "perfect". Is anyones tree perfect???

Enjoy your day!!
Susie

Ralph,

Thank you so much for all you do for the cemetery. I'm so impressed.

I, too, am related to James Hardin and Eleanor Davies/Davis. I'm so excited to see all the info gathered and applied to their memorial.

May I ask your permission to copy any/all info you have posted on findagrave and add them to my ancestry tree? I do not gain financially only gain by having a happy heart. I feel you should get the photo credit and will be happy to give that to you.

I have done very little research on this family and you're giving me a tremendous start.

God Bless You Ralph!

Samuel Davis Hardin
Thanks so very much Ralph for linking Samuel Davis Hardin and his sister, Aunt Nellie (Eleanor Hardin Smith, wife of Jacob Smith) to their parents, Rev. War veteran, James Hardin and wife Eleanor Davis. Hope you finished the grass cutting at Bevis before the snow hit us on Veteran's Day. Thanks for keeping the cemetery so beautiful!

Dolores L (Oliver) Kilby
Ralph,

I'm not sure what you mean by your statement "you run the Bevis Cedar Cemetery", I'm assuming you take care of the cemetery.

Dolores L (Oliver) Kilby' parents Wade and Nellie (Shafer) Oliver are named in her obituary. Since they both died in Akron, Summit Co, OH., I don't think they are buried in Bevis Cedar Cemetery.

Dolores' mother Nellie E (Shafer) Oliver born 1902, in Akron, died Jan 31, 1963, Akron, OH. Wade L Oliver born Sept 11, 1905, GA., died Nov 10, 1984, at the Mt Vernon care center, lived in Akron, OH.

I only transfer within Find A Grave guidelines. If you would want to send me the lot # of Dolores grave, I will be happy to add.

Thank you for all the work you do on Find A Grave.

God Bless

William Pool died Sept 1868
Thank you Ralph for your terrific work with Bevis-Cedar Grove Cemetery! Colerain Township is so fortunate to have your expertise there. I appreciate your help with my Poole/Hardin line and am currently going through my old files to see if I have any primary records to prove William's death in 1868. I have not yet found an obit for him, but looked at Sept 1868 microfilm at the Pub Lib, PLCHC and in the newspaper indexes on the 2nd floor (not the German ones, given that he was English). Know that his precise date of death has only arisen offhand in two documents: 1. Ellen Hardin Poole Garrison's DAR application; 2. James Hardin family bible records/papers at Butler Co Hist Soc., Hamilton, Butler OH, family files. Yes I am hoping to confirm the date. There is also some confusion with his father, Wm Pool Sr. of Clark Co., OH (who died 1854)--sometimes you will find records asserting that Wm Jr. died up there in Clark rather than Hamilton Co--but given the Cincinnati courthouse fires--this is tough to confirm--its just tough to imagine him dying in Clark rather than at his family home on Poole Road, Colerain Twp. Still in progress...Thanks again!

RE: Hardin Family
Hello Ralph B.- Thank you for helping me to add Mary Cilley as one of Dorcas Butler Cilley's eleven children. You do an excellent job of maintaining and preserving the graves at Bevis-Cedar Grove Cemetery. Yes, I am certainly interested in the James Hardin, RWS family information as well, since he too falls in my direct line. I noticed about a year ago or so you all cleaned his and his wife's small old markers, considerably improving their appearance--I have often wondered how this came about, and if there were some Hardin descendants involved. I will try to contact you directly. Thanks so much!
