You requested a photo on a memorial that currently has a photo. Did you need to see the headstone at a different angle or detail?
|Micki Switzer||Mary Weseman Brown|
Thanks for the transfer.
|Barry Jernigan||RE: Marriage info|
Article entitled "Wilcutt-Willcutt" in my copy of "Heritage of Cullman Co, AL" book has info on your probable Wilcutt family. Says ancestor was Lewis Wilcutt married Rachel Amoson. Their son, William Robert Wilcutt, Sr. married Nancy Hisaw. Their son William Robert Wilcutt, Jr. married Mary Elizabeth Chamblee. They had 9 children: Mirtle, Bessie Wilcutt Mitchell, Daisy Wilcutt Knighten, Eula Wilcutt Fleming, Essie Wilcutt Klein, Kate Wilcutt Stewart, John Eugene, Ruby Wilcutt Snowden and Ruth Wilcutt Buck. The article has photo of William Robert Wilcutt, Jr. Also a photo of three brothers? taken in 1945 -- John E., William B. and Milton Wilcutt.

She was my second great grand aunt. Her brother, John Wesley Young, was my great-great grandfather. I found his widow's pension file at Fold3. According to the information within that file, he married Elizabeth P. Jones in Winston Co, AL (probably now in Cullman Co, AL) on 5 Jan 1849. They were married at the house of John C. Jones by John P. Nesmith, JP. The witnesses were William W. Young (probably his brother) and Martha A. Plemmons. John Wesley Young enlisted in Co. G, 1st Ala Cavalry (Union) in Decatur, Morgan Co, AL on 10 Mar 1864. He died of measles at Decatur on 25 Jun 1864 at the Camp Hospital. I don't know who Elizabeth's Jones relatives were. Jones is a common surname and we probably are descended from more than one line of them. I think the pension file said they were married in Winston Co, AL but at that date it must have been actually in Walker Co, AL. She also got mixed up about the birthdates of her children in the file as well which caused a delay in them processing her claim.

I'm thrilled to find you as well. There is a family reunion of the Clark clan each year in Lincoln County, TN in October. It's a great place to visit at that time of the year. I had figured out that you were a descendant of my great aunt. I never knew her, but Mother was fond of her. Contact me on my email, and I can give you details on the reunion. I'd rather not post it all here.
|Barry Jernigan||RE: Hello|
My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. Would love to exchange info and verify that Willis Franklin Knighten and Mary E. Knighten buried in Conway Co, AR are the same couple listed in the Probate of my ggg-grandfather, Daniel H. Young, Sr. I lose track of them in AL after 1880 census. Thanks so much
|Tropico Gravers||Jessie Abbot transfer|
I called the cemetery office and confirmed that a marker was never purchased for Jessie. I noted the memorial before sending the transfer.
