James and William Allison
Dwight: Thanks for your suggestion/correction on the name of William Allison's father's middle initial. I've removed it from the memorial. Are you related to this family? My connection is Lucinda Hunt Allison who was the sister of my g-grandfather, Daniel Hunt.

Hi Dwight,

I'm doing some research [not commercially] for a friend who is a descendant of John Eichman b. about 1868 through his son Fred. I'd love to copy this picture to give her. Also, I've had no luck finding the immigration of John and Katherine Eichman [in 1900, I think]. I know they were Volga Germans. Can you give me any ideas on this?

I was very surprised when I looked at my grandmothers page and saw the picture of her with my dad. I guess that makes us cousins. If you want to contact me please do so at: Thanks

I looked up the pension information I sent you again and found at the bottom of the card that Jeremiah died July 17, 1909.

I believe the document I saw on the Library Ancestry site was just a list of what had been approved for Civil War veterans pensions. There wasn't an application, but I wish there had been.

Jeremiah was with Company H of the 2d (New) Regt. Art. Vols. He enlisted and mustered in at Springfield, January 4, 1864, and was mustered out at Benton Barracks, November 20, 1865. This is from our MO Secretary of States MO Digital Heritage of Soldiers Records, free and online.

Years ago I sent off for one of my gr-great grandfathers Civil War records and received them for a small fee in the mail. You may be able to do the same for Jeremiah and find out more.

I was on the library version of Ancestry at our Springfield, MO library. I found this little bit in the Civil War Pensions: March 31, 1889 - Invalid - filed in MO; August 20, 1909 - widow - filed in MO. I am guessing he died in 1909 while they were living in Missouri. I searched the Sinking Creek Cemetery roster thinking he might be buried there near Everton, but didn't find him.

I'll report again when I get a chance to go to the genealogical library at Greenfield.

The Steeleys' are kin to me also. My website is at: I would love to add your lineage there if you would send me information about the Bazil Steeley family.
