Thanks for the email. I have researched public records and found this person George Washington Powers And Tempie Lee and my grandfather J Blanton and his siblings on census in Marion/Dillon county, Sc. Some of the family then relocated to Bladen and Robeson co, NC. They are also listed on Blanton's death certificates.
Have been to Alloway Cem. in Robeson co on my last visit in 2014. If I can clear up the confusing, please let me know. Good luck with you search.

RE: Whiting/Powers
Hello Romona,

Hope all is well. Thanks for your kind words. I started using Find-a-Grave to help simplify all of the family genealogy info (pages of "stuff") I've accumulated. Not long into the project it became a satisfying addiction.

Are we related via the Powers family? I've been lucky to uncover three family branches with "live" relatives. That's been my greatest surprise!

All the Best,

Roger C Whiting

Sorry, everything I know about this family is posted on the memorials. I did the research strictly for the memorial.

RE: Gardner
You're welcome. I always like to include dates for any other researchers. Too bad you can't find burials for Gardner's wives. I don't think he is buried there either. I don't find him on cemetery records.

RE: Gardner Powers
No Romona, I'm not related. Got into this family somehow when I was looking at somebody else. I just got the marriage dates from marriage records on LDS. You could add the divorce date to the marriage dates on his bio. Thank-you Romona.

if you paste this into your browser it shows the death record on ancestry.com that it is hardick. no one in my family said hardwick either. my dad said it is hardick. that was his mother's mom.
