John Smith, Sr.# 102262609
In response to your research of the two John Smith's confusion and your ancestors move to Mississippi around 1815.

There are many same name in the same line, time frame, with John Smith.

I have not been able to verify the burial of our John Smith, Sr as seen on his Find A Grave Memorial# 102262609.

He may have been in Mississippi, I don't know. But I think not, because his Quit Claim Deed indicates he and his family is in Thunder Swamp in Wayne County, N.C.

This is close to your time frame when he died in 1831.

However, John Smith above has a grandson James Rhodes Smith ....B:22nov1814 Ė D:19nov1873 who made it to Rolling Fork, Sharkey, Mississippi. He married Roxan Sturdivant , and may have married again to: Foy?

Johnís son Dr Stephen Smith Memorial# 78438749 is the father of this James and Stephen his brother is my line.

My Smith ancestors have been documented by many others before me. I was able to post as much as I could find, but any information on find-a-grave before this time frame was converted from Ansestry .com. I no longer pay for their use.

Iím sorry for my rough Find-a-grave notes and concerning Mississippi Smith's if of no help. I do not have any more information. I hope the best in your search.

D. W. Smith
My aunt Minnie Thompson married someone and died giving birth. I found a grave in D'Lo cemetery that said Minnie Smith Jun 16, 1904-Jun 23, 1923 Wife & infant of D. W. Smith. This information sounds in the area of places and dates to be very close to beeing my fathers sister. Could this D. W. Smith be the husband that she was married to? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Would you please add these links to the memorial for Lena Mae? Her dad, W H Coleman = 5674772, and her mother, Frances Elizia Grantham Coleman = 31383608.

OK, Les, I knew your family at Merit. Lena Mae and my mom were first cousins. Lena Mae's mother was Frances Eliza Grantham Coleman, and she was my grandfather's sister. I have the Grantham genealogy.
I saw your homeplace today, as I passed by from tending to some business in Mendenhall. I live near Crystal Springs, but I still have family property on Wilson Welch Road at Merit.
Glad to make the acquaintance.

Les, Lena Mae Coleman Smith was my grandfather's niece. My grandfather was John McCallum (Mack) Grantham. How do you fit in? Always interested in making contact with cousins.
