|MeloraLee||Dorothy Williams Hunt|
I am a very distant relative of Dorothy's. Have been communicating with some family members who knew her.
I am curious about the maiden name of 'Williams'. I know that she was born Dorothea Paulton Clemes in England. I know that she and the children went by other names also. Although Henry Williams is in the census as Ernest Hunt's father-in-law, I wonder if Dorothy's father may have changed his name as well? I found a newspaper article from 1916 stating that her father (Frederick William Clemes --- went by 'FW') got a job with the British Consul in Honolulu. I also see on a later census that Henry Williams worked at the British Consul. Do you know what happened to Henry Williams? His wife, Emily Dickerson Clemes, stated on her marriage certificate about 1917 that she was a widow. She re-married, obviously. Would appreciate any info, particularly more about Henry Williams, and where he might have been buried.
We still have family over in Hawaii.
Thanks so much!
