Like a lot of members I started with FindaGrave looking for my ancestors to preserve memories for future generations. I cannot begin to tell you how Thankful I am for all the wonderful people that went out of their way to help me in fulfilling my quest. So I wanted to pay it forward and I found the best way I could do that is to work with veterans and their families. They have sacrificed so much to preserve our freedom and as a spouse of a NAVY veteran this is the least I could do. Since then I have been working with a wonderful group of volunteers adding and editing veteran memorials to the National Cemeteries.

Currently I am working on Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery checking and cross checking every name for errors and or duplicates and sending requests for corrections when needed.
**********************************************
Find a Grave guidelines clearly states a memorial with a correct known burial location will always be preferred over an unknown burial location and the final disposition should be determined and updated within 30 days. Based on these guidelines please do not put your unknown burial into a cemetery where a known burial has already been placed and state that, that contributor needs to delete their memorial because they made the duplicate. Sorry yours is the duplicate and needs to be deleted.

I have had many contributors asking to have the same memorial transferred to them. We cannot please everyone so I am only adhering to the four generation rule (siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren). As the guidelines state the goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it. A wonderful way to gather all your ancestors together and achieve that goal is by setting up a virtual cemetery.

I would like to give a SINCERE "Thank You" to all the contributors and photographers for all that you have done for me and for FindaGrave. It really means a lot.

Happy Hunting!

Jones family
I notice you have submitted quite a few Jones names in the Erie Street Cemetery, in Cleveland. I was wondering if you know the proximity of some of them. I found a great-great uncle, R.P. Jones, age 5, and submitted a full name of Robert Peak Jones which is from our family records. I was wondering if you know if there are any apparent family members near by? I am looking for the graves of his father, Thomas Jones, Sr.; 1793-1870, a sister of Robert, Mary Ann, b.1823, died bef 1849; and a brother William, 1825-1893. The rest of the family died elsewhere. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks for ALL your hard work!

RE: Henry Gerald Schallert at Fort Snelling
Thank you for such a swift edit!!! I appreciate it very much. Thanks also for taking the time to inform me about the edit request. I have not made many requests. Prior to contacting you, I saw that you had just recently done some editing, so I kept my fingers crossed. Thanks for making the memorial and you're welcome for the photo that goes with this veteran. I knew him.

Please change birth date from March 3, to March 23 for Mr. Schallert. His birth date is clearly visible on his tombstone. Thank you.

Hi Cindy, Could you please change the order of the photos for Eve so that the single headstone photo is first? Thank you so much. Kaye
