I have been doing my Gallaudet Family Tree. Along with other family names such as Meagher, Blair, Swindell, Gilmore, Wilkinson and Horner. Some stem from Ireland but the rest are from Brooklyn, New York to California.|

I don't think I have anything, but would be glad to look through my information again for New Rochelle and see if I can find anything. Did you try the Westchester county Archives in Elmsford, NY to see if they have any records for them.

Is Earle Lewis Gallaudet related to you?
Lynne, Are you his daughter? My father, Charles Goodman, considered John Dolan to be his best friend. Dad survived the war, but died in 1990. Dad borrowed John's uniform when he married my mom. The wedding photos of my parents, then, show my dad wearing John's uniform. They were, of course, the same size and were sometimes mistaken for each other. Dad was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge and, if I remember correctly, was with John when he died.

I am not related to this family. I most likely found their OBIT in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. you could call the cemetery and get a location. With a location a volunteer that lives closer to Holy Cross would most likely go and take a photo of the site. Without a location there is not much hope a photo would be taken due to the size of the cemetery.

Hi. I claimed your request for James in Savannah Ga. I have been to the cemetery and found the plot listed for him. The office says he is buried in this plot but it is owned and as far as I can see, is full of the Backus familt. According to the info on one stone the family is from New York. Is this name related to you and if so, would you like the Backus photos? I was told by office clerks that you guy is buried in plot 13 in this group. I did not see a marker, nor an empty spot. He must be connected to the family as these plots were totally fenced in for each family group. The Backus name is a well known one in Savannah. They owned a Cadillac dealership and have contributed a children's medical facility to the Memorial University Hospital. I will be glad to send the photos if you are interested.. I am going back to the cemetery today for another look around for James. My granddaughter and I spent a couple of hours there yesterday, it's one of her favorite pastimes... C J Smith
Hello again. I visited the cemetery today and I found no grave marker for Henry.. I am thinking that it might be in one of the corners against the fence, but everything was covered in wet matted down leaves.. I think I will try again once they start cleaning it up..I did attempt to brush the leaves away but there where too many.. Don't lose hope :)
Hello, I was going to go photograph this grave marker for you, I could not "claim" it online because i have claimed my quota, but I am going to go find this one for you because its close to my house..I should be able to get it by the end of this week. :)
