Thanks for the reply. I agree, it would be better to link the brothers via their parents, but I couldn't find a memorial site for their parents. I see that Richard and Green's brother, William, is buried in the Vernon Family Cemetery, Eden, Rockingham County, NC. There are quite a few unmarked graves in that cemetery. Carefully searching that cemetery may turn up a partially buried stone for one or both parents. Or, if you have any suspicion or evidence based on family info that they are buried there, you could always create a memorial page for them based on an unmarked grave. That would be at your discretion; You have far more family information on them than I do.
I hope you don't mind: I updated Green's biography based on information you provided. I try to put information out there publically, because I never know who in the future is going to be searching for it. A little piece of info mentioned in passing has been a big help to me at times.
I am not related to Green Vernon. If you are, and would like to manage his memorial, I would be glad to transfer it to you.
I think I just broke a Find a Grave record for longest reply! If you prefer e-mail rather than filling up your message board, I can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Your explanation sounds logical and I reviewed the marriage certificate and WWII draft card also just to double check. I've changed the name on his memorial and added an explanation, along with your name as a source. I hope this is ok. I appreciate your information.

Hi James, I hope you are still afloat with all this rain. I noticed that you sent Dee a correction, sadly she passed away a few days ago, take care, Larry

I can't transfer the memorials because they were transferred to me by people who left findagrave. sorry
|SWVA Genealogy Searcher||RE: Re: FAG Mem 51405651|
The information I have on his memorial is as documented by the Town of South Hill. Either the info came from his headstone or on record when the plot was purchased. They did a physical walk through and documentation of all those buried in the cemetery a few years back and I transferred the info over to Find a Grave.
Also, if you look, his World War I and World War II draft infomation has his name as Henry Lee Fowlkes, not Lawrence.
Henry Lawrence's wife's obituary does not have Jr for her husband. The social security records do not have Jr, as well. I cannot find any records that have the father as a Sr other than what you found. I believe his middle name to be the Lee, since it is on record at the town office.
Hope this helps,
